Eurohaul Southampton Lehavre Paris and Marseilles

This was me and my truck in about 1978/9 having come into the UK from France and stopping off to show my dad who took the photo. Fantastic memories of very hard work and great times pulling the biggest variety of loads imaginable…Italy, Mont Blanc brakes smoking with 45 tonnes behind…long long hours…ferries…Routier restaurants, French and Italian police…now a long time ago and several careers back. A pleasure to be part of that time and the tough characters I worked with who taught me how to survive.

MILKYBAR Talking to an old mate last week Geof (Robbie) Roberson, who worked there, but nor sure in what years, did you know him ?

Hi…. Don’t recall him . I worked out of Lebourget Paris depot but was in and out of the UK and knew all the UK drivers and workshop boys during period late 70’s into early 80,s. I was driving French registered and paid as a French driver.

Interesting pic…… F89 in colours that are after my time . When I was there there were only two F89s six leggers on English Reg OAA and a French one which I drove before the F12. The French one was sold to a Subcontractor who went bust and left it in a lay-by near Rouen

I have a feeling that Peter & Dave Parsons had an 89 on Eurohaul in there colours but not really sure. Kevin

Yes I knew Pete and Dave Parsons I thought their units were unpainted until they bought an F12 which they had painted in Eurohaul colours having red white and blue sweeping flash.

You are probably right I can’t really remember I could only remember them telling me they subbied for eurohaul in the early 80’s and thought they had an 89. Gerbil

Some Eurohaul pics from the old photo album. The driver pic is Graham (Solly) Wainwright ex Astran who called me ‘The tourist’

. Two F12’s are my truck French registered and Dave and Pete Parsons UK reg in Eurohaul colours in the Southampton workshop yard.

I remeber a Gerbil drom the warehouse at EU, would that be Pete??

I remember GW! Man that guy was nuts:P

Who did you drive for Wolfie ? was it Rawlings . Chris

Frive? Me? NEVA! Eurohaul Warehouseman for years

Were you there when Jon Jelbart was workshop manager ? If so that was the time I was in France for them and came into UK for vehicle service. I bought a flat in Southampton and was a good mate of Jons.

I used to work in the work shop around 79/80 long with Ronnie the rat, Stuart, and Lennie Jon was indeed the Warehouse and workshop manager. Jake used to run the warehouse and Trevor Chapman was the shutter does that bring back any memory’s

Hi …..yes I knew all of them so I must have met you. Sat in the tea shed with all of those boys and had this piss taken out of me and given a bit back ! I had a red MGB roadster that Jon sold me that I parked in the yard amongst the trailers that were in for repair. I came off the road and went to run the office at Heathrow but left after another year or so because of the poor management that replaced old Dave Sharp after he retired. Looking back they were good times and nice to have been part of it. Chris

I thought that Kev but I only knew them when they got their Globetrotter.

John Jelbart (Jelly) is still with us. JJ Auto Recovery, still has his boat on the river Hamble. He just cant give up!

Thanks for letting me know about JJ (Jelly Jelbart)I still have his number so will get in touch.Chris (Milkybar)

They had an F12 later in Eurohaul colours same time I had mine. Chris
