Euro-liner help

My mate has just acquired a euro-liner or perhaps it is a specialist one.

The roof in theory raises, it has no internal straps, has a special ‘rubber?’ floor and higher than normal rave rails. It has external strap reels at intervals along the sides under the floor which from the sides looks a bit like a container.

The issue has arisen re-strapping. We both think the load has to be strapped but some firms say the load wont move, therefore doesnt need strapping . The problem is he was rejected at an Amazon site after loading it. Because no internal straps and they said external straps are not acceptable.

Anyone care to comment constructively on this.

Yeh.
Strap it …end of.
Your licence your cash…or rather your mate’s.

If it’s not an XL, rated and marked, trailer, with a positive fit load, it needs straps.
Amazon don’t write the law, but as a customer may specify minimum standards for their loads.

Can’t believe Amazon are that picky

Good on them I say. The more loads get rejected for not being secured, the more drivers may realise they need to actually spend 5-10 minutes strapping it down and the less hold ups and shorter delays for all there’ll be when things go wrong on the road. Often when there’s been an accident involving a lorry and road closure, most of the time it’s closed is because of picking the load up off the floor, something that shouldn’t happen if it’s strapped down properly. Yeah you’d end up with bulging curtains but the whole point is it would stay in those curtains, not spill out onto the road.

Conor is thy stupid? READ THE POST AGAIN !!

Amazon rejected it because IT DIDN’T HAVE INTERNAL STRAPS NOT THAT HE WASNT GOING TO STRAP IT. Please put your specs on pal before replying in future ffs.

Yeah that’s what we both reckon. And that’s what he was gonna do. Amazon loaded it then took the load off.

How about we get rid of cheap imported labour with their Mickey Mouse licences and then the accident rate will fall significantly
Just a thought like

Sounds like he has bought one of the trailers designed for stillages of car parts that I see going into Mini in Oxford a lot. No need for straps as the stillages are purpose made to fit the trailer. Lift roof, load stillages onto high friction floor and high rave rails with a positive fit at the bottom, lower roof which holds the tops in with a positive fit and no straps required. Half height stillages, strap reels on the sides used.
Just a guess without seeing pictures of the trailer of course.

I use euroliners all the while and as Franglais says if it is a XL rated trailer with a positive fit load it needs no straps although I would still strap the last row.We have no internal straps on ours but use spansets when ever needed,I think the problem here might be Amazon them selves I have had loads rejected myself when they said it was too dangerous to unload as it was double stacked when infact there was nothing wrong with it. It’s got to the point now that I waste so much time at Amazon that I would sooner stand my lorry rather than try and take a load in there and a lot of my mates do the same I all so will not buy anything off them because of the way they treat me. I am sure I will get slated for this but this is my opinion and the way I feel about them

Auf weidersen ,doi, killi nitra frec off, ime off.
Thank you and good night.

Hi bud. Yep that is what he bought. Used to carry Ford parts apparently to Europe and back.
