Hi SHYTOT,

IMHO, Simon has answered your question, and the only thing I can add to that is that I’m not aware of any other actual legal requirements for fire-extinguishers in any other country.

:bulb: To my way of thinking, it might be an idea to have a 2kg powder extinguisher on board, on the basis that it’s judged as being capable of putting out a fire in the cab or engine of a vehicle.

Dieseldave Simons answer said IN THE UK my question was throughout Europe not just the UK

shytot i give you a answer its carry one why because it
MAY save your life or some one elses , I have looked but
can not find at present a list, however some country’s have
it as Law for cars and no remark is made about Trucks,
nearly every one in commercial transport who likes to
be safe than sorry has one in the cab, okay some one would
say its money out the window, but The insurance company would say
well done, may keep the premium down when you have a fire,

brit pete your answer started with ADR 8.1.4 i was not asking about ADR regs.
My question was are there any countries in Europe that require trucks to carry a fire extinguisher
if so what weight, but from reading your answers it would appear they are not required as for carrying an extinguisher for the sake of it no way if its law we do it, if not we dont, as for hitting someone over the head no we dont do that either, and if one of our trucks caught fire our drivers attitude would be like 99% of employed drivers (**** it let it burn)

well Norway is one country that says a fire extinguisher
is required, Denmark,Croatia Sweden are others I am trying to find
a link that will show all of the country,s in one,
Hope this helps
