That was heroic. Luke Shaw, Harry Kane and Sterling were outstanding.
If it had gone to penalties, I think Schmeichal would of been the difference though.
Sunday is going to be some occasion.
It’ll be ironic if we win on Sunday in as much that we’ll have left the EU and taken their cup with us!
The European Cup doesn’t belong to the EU.

Ain’t you quite the hoot?
Looking forward to Sunday, Italy will be a hard side to break down, I think it’s something like 30 + games unbeaten.
Tbh I’m happy we’ve finally got to a major final, anything else is a bonus…but a bloody GOOD bonus.
33 unbeaten, we’ve drawn with them the last two times we met… happy to be in the final but to win it would give the country a massive boost after all the crap…
this is the time to play the tippy tappy stuff and slow it down as this will frustrate the iti’s and thats when they start losing it… whatever happens though i’m proud of the lot of em…
At least the roads will be quiet I might roll Sunday make most of this 5 hite
Anybody else looking forward to the final as much as me?
I’m like an overgrown rich kid at Christmas.
■■■■ years as an avid fan of bad memories of things like …Maradonna the cheating little ■■■■, Gazza missing that stretch to score in Italia 90, Beckham going on his arse in that penalty,.Ronaldiniho scoring when putting a cross in, Southgate’s penalty, Ronaldo winking when he got Rooney sent off, ‘Lampard scoring and the goal being disallowed, 30 years (and then some ) of hurt’’ as Frank Skinner says.
Tomorrow it could all end.
My mate ain’t keen on going to a pub that’s rammed to watch it (covid ) , it wouldn’t bother me tbh, …but we’re going out on an all day session on Monday to celebrate (or cry
).
Got the wife on the case, she’s out getting some meat and fresh rolls for sarnies, quiche and pizza, and my beer fridge is rammed, my two lads are coming around,.so looking forward to a good game.
On the negative side (in case any of the wet blankets are thinking of gloating .)…in the event of them losing, imo…it’s an achievement getting to a final.
We can beat this Italian team, we’re a defensive side that can close them down,.catch them on the break,.and take advantage of chances and set pieces.
We need Grealish to start and get an early goal from Stirling otr Kane.
Here’s hoping eh?
Can’t wait. Only football can provide that build up of excitement before a game.
Progress of players is obvious now. Southgate seems to of absorbed all the FA criteria as a manager and all the experience he gained as a player.
How ironic is the squealing from the continent about simulation.
How often have we been on the end of it?
The big question is whether the squad is mature enough to cope with the masters of the dark arts of footie.
Could be a war of attrition and extra time, or youngsters could wear out their back line. Going to be an optimist and say we will start on front foot and get a 3-1 victory in normal time.
well, rob and janos i agree with all your sentiments and hope we do it, i dont understand this love in with grealish though, ye he is a decent player but goes down to easily, looking for it most of the time and this could cause us problems if he starts.
p.s its not anti villa cause i’m a blues fan i truly belive he could be a liability.saying that lets start with jude
p.s p.s ffs as well let’s have jerusalem as our football anthem…

He just creates chances, he puts some good crosses in, he’s also a target and because of that he gains free kicks with good scoring chances, rather than causing us problems.
Apparently he’s the most fouled player in the premier league.
He sure as hell won’t be playing for Villa much longer,.Man City,.Chelsea, or abroad…or let’s hope he comes to The Toon…#nochance.
i respect your opinon rob but how often have you known a sub to be subbed, theres a reason for that.
down here we here a lot more about him and the bloke has got problems.
anyhow if he scores or sets up the winner for us nobody will cheer louder than me.

Thing is you don’t actually ‘enjoy’ these games, it’s a rollercoaster of emotions, especially if we’re a goal up before 90 mins…or worse a goal down, as for penalty shoot outs I hate them, it’s ■■■■ agony.

Ok, but when we were a goal up, he was replaced by a defensive player, I admit they should have took Sterling off to rest him, …but I’ve stopped disagreeing with Gareth as he always seems to get it right,.and ain’t afraid to make unpopular decisions.
hail gareth gotta agree. anyway i hope we converse with a win mate … all the best…

Just want to tell somebody I’ll l be having a pint for an Uncle of mine while watching the game.
He took me to my very first football game as a kid, and to a few more…(and tried unsucessfully to introduce me to rugby )
I’ve watched every FA Cup final on tv with him since I was 7 years old,.I’ve rang him up after every time I went to a game at St James’s to discuss the game,.and every time I watched an England game on tv while away in the truck UK and abroad, and we watched quite a few England games together on tv while I’ve been at home.
He died 18 months ago, just wish he was here to see England getting to a final.
It was difficult watching my first FA cup final without him,and I cried like a baby when they sang ‘Abide with me…’ his favourite song.
RIP Uncle Jim, you’re missed man.
Sorry to bring things down lads, just wanted to say it …
(Don’t want/need a response to this btw…Cheers.)
First final since 66. Who would not want to share occasion with like minded kin. Whats gone before just adds to the emotion.
In soccer there’s a thin line between success and failure.
I like to call it Hadrians wall.
