Euro 2020

right, tomorrow’s game, nobodys mugs ukraine but i suspect a cagey game and us to win 2-0 kane getting 1 and trippier with a wonder free kick…

That was a game! Italy looking like…Italy. Once they get ahead they shut up shop.
I think Ukraine have over achieved, so we could cruise through this one. Would like to see Grealish stay in. He finds it easier to link with Kane.
In the past…Gerrard and Lampard era, the players seemed weighed down by history. This squad are playing without that baggage. 3 nil I reckon.

Missed both games last night,.want to get back early today, so did a 15 and listened to games on radio…not the same. :unamused:

As for England tonight…Half of these lads were not born in 96, so missed penalties then, and further disappointments in World Cups and Euros, are just things they have read and heard about or saw on old tv clips. They will sure as hell be up for it tonight,.as long as Southgate keeps their feet on the ground,.and they don’t get carried away…

Ukraine have already exceeded their expectations, they afaik have never got beyond the group stages, so I’d rather be facing them than the likes of Belgium…but who knows eh?

Gareth stuck to his plans on Mon night despite popular alternatives by armchair managers, but if things go ■■■■ up (they won’t btw :sunglasses:  ) he’s going to get some stick for his defensive priority tactics.
I reckon Kane will be totally up for it tonight, but he can only score if he gets the delivery, so Grealish needs to be on.
McGuire (who I was never really keen on) I have noticed has done a couple of Beckham style precision long passes, and of course Sterling must start…along with Walker being a defence must…but wtf do I know eh?
2 0 England I reckon, but I’d settle for a lucky goal win.

Rob have you not got iplayer app and itv hub app on your phone?
Footballs not quite home, but its got a foot in the door.
Kane fed by Sterling again. Sancho is a brave choice. Game changer or bit part player like Foden so far?

for the first time in my life i dont fear the germans, i fancy a 2-0 with kane and maguire scoring, :sunglasses:

I reckon 3 2,.a tight game.
Kane 2 Sterling 1,
Verne 1 for the Germans.

(I ain’t known for my match score predictions btw, my local bookie loves me  )

Your having a laugh, England score 3 my ribs are getting sore from laughing. It will go to extra time then the spot kicks, that’s if England get that far

How’s yer ribs tonight then bud??

Yep, got full Sky on my phone, but don’t watch it while driving…even if I did I wouldn’t dare admit it on here, have you read some of the posts??
Theres more grass on here than Wembley Stadium.

Excellent game,.exceeded even my expectations.
Just saying to my lad,.England have always had good players, but now they have a good TEAM. :sunglasses:

All those top notch managers since Bobby,…Erikson, Capello,.etc etc, and it takes a quiet modest man, an.ex defender, who used to manage the Boro to make a bloody good side. :bulb:

Even Louie my dog got excited.

That morning in May on the way to the pub wasn’t such a bad idea after all.

Well deserved, they played well

You got a good price on England to win, considering they were the favourites. :open_mouth:
Nice one. :sunglasses:

Reckon you’ll get an even better price for them on Denmark game.
Did Lisa get a drink out of it btw??

grumpys bet is to win the tournament not last nights game rob…

First delberate mistake today just to see who is taking notice, so full marks MAN.
Do you really think for one minute I would put something to risk looking bloody stupid on here?

Tell you what though, it’s reassuring to see the bookies are only giving 5/1 when teams like Italy Spain and Dennark are still in the running,.and England were originally on the outsider fringe. (Yeh I know 2more sides were still in it at time of bet btw)
I’m feeling quite optimistic on this , …as Alan Shearer said, England have never had such a good opportunity, or had as proven a performance to go all the way in a competition.

no rob i knew it was a test straight away :unamused:
i am seeing the confidence growing in them every game, dont fear the danes, back at wembley with 60,000 screaming fans going for a 3-1…

Took these odds before the competition had started on 31st of May.
I reckon there’s a lot more would like these odds now!

your right there grumpy if i could get them odd’s now i’d be on it like a mountain goat…

England currently 6/4 favourites so my 5/1 bet is looking good, pleased I took the price when I did.
Can they win it? sure they’ll make the final but not convinced they’ll go all the way and lift the trophy.

I know what you mean, but that is only because it’s England.
We’re used to building our Hope’s up and getting knocked back…as Frank Skinner said ‘30 years of hurt’ …it’s now 55 ■■■■ years of hurt,.I can remember most if the games where we have been knocked out,.and it’s crap.

Thing is though if a side like Germany or Holland or France had played as well as us, through this competition with a clean sheet, and no losing games, you’d be thinking they’re up for a competition win, but because it’s England your opinion changes.

You watch an England game but you never enjoy it as such, that niggle is always in the back of your mind.
I feel the same, but we’ve got the best opportunity we’ve ever had, with a good cautious defensive team, paired with some excellent forward players,.getting good passes by good out players.
I’m optimistic mate for first time in a long time. :sunglasses:
Anyhow I need SOME joy out of football for a change, I’m a Newcastle fan ffs. :unamused:

You haven’t as much to complain about as me………

I have shares in a club that only stayed in the football league last season because there was 2 teams that were even worse than we were!
Oh and only a few years ago we gave Newcastle a lesson one Tuesday evening.

They unfortunately are the wife’s team, that’s the only bad choice in life she made.
