Melanie Phillips may, or may not, be correct in her views on the internal machinations of the Tory party.
Her views on some other subjects may not inspire confidence however:
Her support of Doctor (later struck off) Andrew Wakefield, and her current stance as a Climate Change denier doesn`t give her a good track record.

People hold a multitude of opinions, just because someone doesn’t like eating eggs doesn’t mean their opinion on another issue is automatically wrong and based on false information, or as you are trying to insinuate that all opinions of that person should be discredited. I have come to despise Jeremy Corbyn for his current shenanigans, that doesn’t mean I disagree with or want to ridicule his stance on Railway privatisation.

Insinuate?
Melanie Phillips, who read English at university, holds views that are contrary to the accepted position held by peer reviewed scientists in medicine and climatology. Plain enough?
You are correct of course being wrong or mistaken on one issue, doesn`t make one wrong on all issues.
As I said she “may or may not be correct…”, plain enough too.

Edit to add. I have listened to Melanie Phillips on many occasions on “The Moral Maze”, and from listening to her questions and opinions, before and after listening to experts, I have made my own judgment as to her credibility as a rational thinker.

Yes we know you are a full on Federalist control freak who won’t tolerate any dissent from your own beliefs and views.Bearing in mind that for many of us ‘climate change’ denial is a plus point. As opposed to working for the interests of the French nuclear power industry.

As for measles vaccination I don’t know anyone who didn’t have measles or mumps, including myself as a child,we all recovered from it.Forcible medication,as opposed to giving people the choice,is the marker of a zb ■■■■.Just like forcible euthanasia. You’re obviously in good company with, son of a ■■■■ trooper,Juncker on both issues.Remind us of the track record of previous medication regimes, run by the European pharmaceutical industry in that regard. You know like the zb Thalidomide issue. Also no surprise that you obviously apply double standards regarding unquestioning acceptance of US imported technology when it suits you.Probably in this case because Hilleman was an ethnic Kraut.I’d prefer to trust people like Wakefield than your corrupt megalomaniac establishment stooges thanks. :imp: :unamused:

I came back from Gran Canaria a week or so ago , and while I was there we were in a taxi when the driver commented on not getting enough rain which I replied we get more than our fair share. He then said they got more rain on the hills where they grow tomatoes which are all exported to Britain but we wont be able to sell them once you come out of the EU. I said do you think we will stop eating tomatoes if we ever get out , he said not ours. Well if we can buy tomatoes elsewhere cheaper then why not . If theres capacity to grow more here then why not. We should be able to make our own deals , its like the scaremongering about a shortage of medicines we import, well why did we allow medicines we produced here be transferred abroad ? Why didnt the government say no you can buy the company that produces the medicines but you are not transferring production abroad on such essential items. There have been well established companies over here selling out to foreign concerns only to be closed down and production and customer base taken abroad. What should be happening here is the government encouraging manufacturing here instead of relying on imports , something we did a few years ago until the EEC then the EU got their claws into us

So,
You want us to buy the cheapest product from wherever?
You want us to produce more at home, even if it may be more expensive than imports?
You want the Gov to arrange this, but in other posts you moan about Gov and EU regulation and interference?

I want us to have the choice to buy from wherever not told by the EU
Well according to you it will be more expensive to import if we leave the EU , and do you take into account the contributions we pay to the EU for the privilege of their cheaper imports and the immigration or free movements as they call it that puts massive strains on the NHS , something these migrants have paid nothing into but are quite entitled to use as soon as they land on our shores
No I want the government to stop foreign companies buying British companies only to shut them down and take production and customer bases with them. I moan about EU interference something I abhor .
Go take a detailed look into their wonderful WTD something forced upon us that isn`t fit for purpose , it makes me wonder how many laws we have taken that are utter crap

Two points today I would like to make a comment on.

  1. Saw Dianne Abbot on the Andrew Marr show and she wants to have under Labour a free channel for immigrants into this country of ours and her reasoning was that we need these foreign imports to man the hospitals to look after us, why is my question why what we ought to do is just let in nurses and doctors and not the rest. We should change our benefit system to make dole mongers get out there beds and clean the hospitals etc, its the system that is wrong not the people abusing it, bit like the gravy train in the EU where no one challenges them.

  2. What the hell has it got to do with the Arch Bishop of Canterbury how Boris Johnson conducts himself in parliament in particular the use of words like humbug, never have ever thought that word was rude as a kid I was some times told I was a naughty little humbug or as a sweet which I have often as a replacement to cigarettes in fact I am sucking one as I type, Buzzer.

As opposed to,
You want us to import the cheapest products from East Euro and the most expensive ones from Germany.
You don’t want us to produce anything like as much as we import re the above and you won’t allow us to buy Australian/American if we choose to either although we have a far more advantageous trading relationship with both than we do with the EU.
You’ve got the government in the form of the EU to arrange this for you.

Telling the ArchBish to keep his nose out of politics Buzzer? At last you have said something with which I can agree, because your rotten parliamentary system has him and all his Bish colleagues at the heart of government delaying or changing at will things the elected goverment wants to enact, in the totally unelected House of Lords. :open_mouth:

Some democracy you’re taking back control to. :unamused:

No problem more austerity like slashing the NHS budget will fix that.

What could possibly go wrong?

Yes we’ve got an EU Commission and an EU Parliament and an ECJ all there for no reason whatsoever. If anyone believes the laughable lies of the Federalists that is.As opposed to the reality like 15 hour shifts.

Remind us why did Heath need to hide FCO 30/1048 and as you liars keep telling us when it suits you we can, given the right government, ditch loads of ( Kraut friendly ) legislation like EU type approval and non EU importation tariffs on US/Australian automotive products for example and the Common Fisheries Policy and the free movement of cheap labour and capital exporting what jobs we have left and end our ‘contribution’ for the privilege of being ruled by control freak scum like Juncker and Verhofshite. Then actually get a vote on whether we want to believe and go along with all the EU ‘Climate Change’ bs.Hopefully also under a revised system that doesn’t give the Scottish National Socialist Party 56 seats for less than one million votes.

The only ‘price’ is that which the Krauts will pay if/when our contributions are no longer there to prop up their EU Federal dream. As for the NHS yes there can only possibly be ( much ) more money to spend on it in a situation in which we are no longer giving it all away to the great EU foreign aid scam.So the Americans want to invest a bit more on top who gives a zb.On that note you do realise how much is contracted out in the NHS now under the EU Utopian dream. The difference being that it’s all rationed to the point of being unfit for purpose because the EU is taking all of our bleedin money.

Anything the EU insist we must do is anything i disagree with , a bit like your Ma Kranky who wont listen to the people of scotland who voted NO to independence but still insists on another vote but she wants to bang on about scotland voting to remain one vote she likes she supports the orher she doesnt like she wants a recount. If you get independence how are you going to run your hospitals and schools with no handouts from the UK and dont forget your contributions to the EU plus our divorce bill .Will the EU really want a country with a smaller population than London .They only want what they can get out of a country not what they can contribute

If she gives us another vote, fair enough, times change, opinions change. It’s not going to happen any time soon though.

The UK as a whole voted for Brexit. Now that they’ve seen the mess Theresa and Boris have made of handling things, maybe the UK has changed its mind too. Who knows? One things for sure, the Leave side are absolutely terrified of having another referendum. Yes, I know, Leave won and the result should be respected.
As for Scotland, the biggest incentive to vote for Independence is watching the ■■■■■■■■■■■ that’s going on in Westminster right now. How did it come to pass that the most incompetent government in history chose the most incompetent PM in history to lead them? Has he delivered on any of his promises yet? Weren’t we supposed to be out by this week (do or die)? Has he ever, in his whole life, told the truth about anything?

If it hadn’t been for the opposition parties throwing every obstacle they could find or invent against him, the job would have been done on the 31st. Even though they have agreed to a general election, the opposition factions can’t even agree whether they will allow it on the 9th, 11th or 12th of December. For Fawkes’ sake let the government get on with it. Get the exit done first, THEN have a GENERAL election, not one which is focussed almost entirely on Brexit, but about the day-to-day running of things like policing, education, health and transport. How would Ms. Swinson and her new pals feel if Boris insisted that revocation or further extension of Article 50 were taken off the agenda before any further progress could be made?

“So the Americans want to invest a bit more on top” [the NHS].
No ****ing comment.
Asked Pat Haslar how well the US system works? Ask him how generous their US health insurance schemes are?
Any contracting out of NHS services by the UK Gov is determined by the UK gov. No EU directives telling the gov to cut taxes and spend less on health is there? If we’ve got poor investment in hospitals, schools and policing is it all Brussels fault or the Cancellor of the Exchequer?
Other countries do ok working to the same set of rules as us, so who’s to blame?
