Eu referendum whats your vote

C.F. and Cav,
Sure more integration of armies means less chance of inter European aggression, but more. Yorkshire is less likely to invade Lancashire because they share a common UK army, not 2 separate ones. Same with Countries as counties.

So when Argentina attacks the Falklands again we have to get EU permission to do anything about it and abide by its ruling. Don’t argue that we would have access and assistance to EU Naval assets, because we can guarantee that Spain would want to create as many objections as it could dream up and France would be as underhanded as it always has been.

I notice too that it has been down to the UK to initiate drawing up plans for EU assistance to protect all tankers in the straits of Hormuz. Of course if we still had Shackletons based at Sharjah then it might not be such a problem.

You are right about the Germans CF - going back way way before 1945 they helped the English subdue the British - though at the time maybe it was hard to tell Inglish & Germans apart.

These days it is so much easier, the Tattoos, Beer Beliys & Butcher’s Apron T-Shirts help to make the English stand out wherever in the world you are.

They actually helped the same lot that had subdued the English from 1066 just like the rest of the nations of the British Isles.IE an invading alien European mob starting in 1066 and then sealed with the Plantagenet rabble onwards with a bit of help from the Hanovarians at the end.All leading to this the end game.

Ironically the Butchers Apron being more the mark of that invading Federalist cuture and by definition anti English.Because it dissolves England just the same as Scotland and Ireland as individual sovereign states within it.

The Falklands were outside of NATO agreements but that didn’t prevent us acting alone. Same with a treaty within EU.
Treaties (like trade agreements) are complicated and need flexibility built in. That’s why GOOD ones take a long time to thrash out.
.
You don’t want the EU to set the rules, but moan when they ask us to set the rules?

Which leaves the question of the casualties of the US War of Federal Aggression.

In which no doubt in both cases you’ll always brand Secessionists by definition as the aggressors in all cases just for the crime of secession. :unamused:

That’s very stereotypical maybe on the verge of racism but of course you cant be racist against a white englishman it’s a one way street.
Of course to be fair nowhere else in the world do people have tattoos or drink beer. Not the Germans , Dutch or Belgians or many more i could mention . The Scots and Irish are well known for not drinking but if they do happen to cross the line and they happen to have their flag with them then they are being patriotic bless 'em

Ah…but as a County Palatine Lancashire has the historical right to raise its own army if it wants to, so we might invade Yorkshire if we decide to.

You already have , half the cast of Emmerdales from over the brew  l

I used to work with someone from “God’s own County”, he was described to me as a “well balanced man”.
From Yorkshire, and five foot nowt, he had a chip on both shoulders!

And the Lord said let there be light, and Boris being a bit of an electrician flicked the switch and you could see for miles and miles, well lets hope so. He has promised to lead us out of the EU at the end of October deal or not so lets see if he is a man of his word, I think he will try and do a deal in Brussel’s and I think they know he is no TM in his approach so I am not counting my chickens just yet so have put a hold on his new bed at No10…
Watching to see just how many Conservative sour losers chuck there rattles out the pram at his appointment, I think he was the right man as Hunt would have bent and tried to extend the whole sad process of Brexit, now IMHO I would not be surprised if Labour don’t oust Corbin as labour leader as with him at the helm they have little chance in a general election.
Of course its not over till the fat lady sings so we will have to bide or time and wait and see what the outcome is and there are plenty of other concerns for the govenment of late other than Brexit to deal with, Buzzer

He can make as many promises as he wants, ultimately he’ll do whatever his best buddy Donald tells him to do.

It will be after the EU favouring Scots vote to leave the UK, won’t it?
Who is successor to Jimmie Stewart now? Could we have an orange-wigged King Donald? About as likely as “The Last King Of Scotland” maybe?

dexxy57:

The point was clearly no it isn’t a sovereign state. With the exception of the period before Edward 1 hijacking the place and after the Bruce won it back from the Plantagenets at Bannockburn .What then followed being a French power struggle with ‘England’ and ‘Scotland’ still effectively being French puppet vassal states fighting on opposite sides.

Until it all got even more interesting when the Hanovarian Kraut nutters took over the place v Jacobites.

On that note just like England isn’t and arguably hasn’t been since 1066.Which is why we have the Butcher’s Apron and Scottish MP’s deciding what happens in England and vice versa. With a bit ( lot ) of help from Italian Communist MEP’s and the French German ruling alliance now that we’re all under the rule of the EU.

Just to get the facts right. The war of the roses was a power struggle between two opposing sides of the Plantagenet dynasty.Who were …Frogs not English.Most/all of them didn’t even speak English.Just like the 100 years war was another case of naive Brits pressed into service to fight an inter French war on the laughable basis that they were fighting for ‘England’.

No doubt to which Franglais’ bs script is that the invaders who took out around 600 years of English civilisation and culture and nationhood,in addition to the rest of the nations which made up the British Isles.Actually came in peace to civilise the country.Yeah right.

Not sure what you’re referring to as Butcher’s Apron. But let’s just say that flying the Union Flag with the Cross of St George, both post 1066 inventions, ain’t exactly the height of understanding of Anglo Saxon Nation and society. You know the one that was taken out in 1066 never to return.
