I’ve had several Government issued pamphlets come to me today about what to do about applying to stay in the UK after Brexit if you are a EU national resident in the UK. Two scenarios are discussed; leaving with No Deal, or leaving with a Deal. I’ve only had time to speed read them so far, but the application to stay procedures open on 30th March. My first thought (surely wrong) after reading them was that EVERY EU national living in the UK has to apply to stay. If native born UK nationals are also classed as EU nationals, then we will all have to apply to remain in our own country. Surely I’ve misread, or mis-understood. I’ll lock the office door and turn off the phone tomorrow and read the things properly. (We have until 2021 to apply for residence, by the way).

With a jus Soli definition of nationality UK born obviously trumps everything.Including in the case of ISIS members sworn to this country and its society’s destruction.

How long will it be before someone appears, parrots “project fear”, and then turns away to bury their head in the sand again?
All due to Brexit?
Doubtful, but it must be a significant factor.
What ‘significant factor’ could that be bearing in mind that it’s the EU which has opened its doors to tariff free trade with Japan thereby removing any reason for the Japs to ‘assemble’ their crappy cars here any longer.Whereas Brexit obviously gives us the opportunity to quota, tariff and legislate the Japs out of the UK market in retaliation for ditching their production commitments here,in just the same way as the EU does now with US imports. Not to mention the return of all government incentives provided to them to set up here.Meanwhile I’m sure that VAG and PSA workers will be ecstatic about Japanese sweatshop labour conditions being given free access to Euroland.Sort of contradicts all the bs about EU membership being good for European workers. As opposed to inflicting austerity at home to pay the EU contributions bill and being ruled by Politburo plutocrats like Juncker etc all for the privilege of European jobs for live to work Jap workers and Euro cash going to prop up the Jap economy.

I’ve now read all the bumph properly and it only applies to EU national immigrants to the UK. Here’s a link if anyone wants to have a read.

We are faced with the same process here, but have been advised to apply in advance of Brexit, many have, including me but the unfriendly attitude and moving of the goalposts of local officials has frustrated it. In any case a new application will have to be made after Brexit because the residence permit is different for non-EU residents.

It’s obvious that the argument at home between Federalist v Nationalist, let alone our relationship with the stinking EU is going to get ( very ) nasty before it gets better probably at least until Nationalism hopefully smashes the corrupt EU wannabee superstate.Maybe it’s time for those and those like you to decide where your loyalties belong by putting country before economic self interest.Look on the bright side at least you’re not being ordered to give up your life on that basis as many have before.
Now awaits you predictably telling us that your loyalties are actually with the EU not this country.

Don’t know anything about ‘England First’ but like the idea of ditching the silly Scottish muppets and letting what’s er name keep them in the EU if it means English independence.
But seriously in the real world Batten led UKIP is as good as it gets so long as he stays the guvnor.
Oh dear Mercedes formula one team may, I repeat may leave our shores if we have a no deal Brexit more of the inevitable scaremongering, Buzzer

To be fair Rob Walker was one of my driving god idols. But if I’ve got it right Mike Hawthorne was actually ahead of him with his Coombes Jag on the Guildford by pass when he lost it because the thing seems to have had too much power for its old tech tyres to handle.
While if I’ve also got it right Walker made an offer for the Uhlenhaut straight 8 SLR coupe because that’s what it would have taken to beat the Jag.But he was turned down by those miserable krauts. Then to add insult to injury they turned down my offer of 50 quid for it bearing in mind the design is a death trap if it’s rolled.

Have to agree: ‘Herr Tragen Sie schnell’ (CF) & Von Bewick are some of the the best campaigners to keep Ingerland under their fellow Germanic Anglo Saxon Rule - pity the Welsh / Scots / Cornish who can’t claim EU citizenship
On the Bright side at least our royal family can claim EU citizenship - at the least German or Greek- wish I had that option

Just as an aside Herr Flick was a dead ringer for the Distribution Director of S & N Breweries in the '90’s ! Cheers Bewick.
Is this right or is this right posted on FB by my mate MR Gary ( globetrotter ) Burton aka Gazzer, these MP’s who are voted in by the general public to supposedly serve us well in our best interests, they don’t give a flying shag about us all they are concerned with is feathering there own nests, makes you want to be a communist and get the Brexit job sorted once and for all, Buzzer
Sounds about right to me Buzzer ! As the list I.D.'s it’s the House of Commons ( and those ■■■■■■■ in the upper house!) who are “dyed in the wool” Remainers and are determined to do anything to frustrate the outcome regardless of how their constituents voted. Absolutely ■■■■■■■ disgusting the bunch of ■■■■■■■ areosols ! I watched a bit on the news to-night of that ■■■■■■ Tusk swaggering off the Belgian Air Force plane, what a ■■■■ that geezer is and the EU isn’t a Country so what was that ■■■■■■ doing in Sharm El Sheik ? Cheers Bewick.
