Hi,
Has anyone come across any ethical agencies?
Tommy.
.
Do you know what an oxymoron is?
LOL,
It wouldn’t take much though would it! A few folk with some savy and not greedy! I believe they make gross profits. If a few guys got together and made fair payments plus a bit for themselves then everyone would win wouldn’t they?!
Tommy.
C’mon mate, you aint being serious here are you.
Ethical.Agencies?
It’s a contradiction in terms,…a bit like Wigan Athletic, and Police Intelligence.

To be honest, if there aint one then there should be! They would get PLENTY of work from big companies who pride themselves on ethical employment, CO-OP for example, it would be massive bragging rights.
Tommy.
IME, most agency staff in the offices are akin to second-hand car salesmen.
Ethical agency?..
Oh do stop!
That’s just sooo funny.

Here’s a clue in my case it was never about the money. It was being stitched up a bit too often with 7.5t multi drop and building trade ‘deliveries’ ( site labourer ) because no one else wanted to do it.Including work described as ‘class 1 trunking’ which miraculously ‘changed’ to the above on arrival at the job.
I once worked for an agency that was supposed to be "by drivers-for drivers ". Trans Staff iirc. The guys in the office in swindon were certainly all (ex)drivers, rather than pointy shoe wearing liers…
They didn’t last long though.

No they wouldn’t. Enough said.

Coop use every agency going it seems, so despite their image they aren’t that worried about how the agency works, especially considering the main one they use. Everyone else is more worried about the shareholders than bragging about the agency supplying their workforce and ultimately it seems consumers aren’t too worried either or Sports Direct would have gone under years ago.
I don’t think agencies like you describe could really survive as the bigger ones have backed them into a corner promising the world and having to deliver, or lie about it, to both ends. Now employers expect to be able to summon up X number of people for a job with very little notice and if the agency can’t deliver, said employer will threaten to go elsewhere. To a large degree they have to lie and cheat to survive however much they may not want to.
Add to this all the promises made about umbrella and Ltd schemes which are still being spouted by certain agencies, and as long as people believe those, the bigger ones will get the work and the more ethical ones will die off from lack of staffing options.
Btw it’s not just driving agencies who are like this, it goes across the board.

Yes a few. Depends what you mean by ethical.
The two things I won’t stand for are lying and being short shrifted on hours. I’ll sue if necessary. I don’t steal Ad blue, diesel, loo rolls or goods off the back of the truck… and I don’t expect hours to be stolen off me.

Yup…
