Essex police to fine drivers who drove wrong way on M11

At the end of day those 10 people only have themselves to blame. Regardless of the how why where or when they should not have turned around and driven the wrong way down the hard shoulder.

Hopefully they will learn a lesson from it.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, it’s all too easy for someone to send video footage whether from a phone or a dashacam of any transgressions you make whilst driving. Why risk it just abide by the rules we all have to and these type of people who send it in wouldn’t have anything to send in.

Why would you break the law driving or any law these days given the amount of smartphones, cameras about?, and why do most people not break the law? It’s down to personal standards and morals. I’m quite happy to see these pay a fine due to camera evidence, be it motorway or Doris cam.Back in the days before cameras, there tended to be more traffic cops about to give you the rollicking you deserved, and embarrassment at the rollicking tended to keep most folk in line. I’m buggered if I know what the solution is though…

The result will be more control by the authorities.
They are doling out rope at an alarming rate and the UK public make no bones of using it to hang themselves.

Once the assorted Police/Local Authorities have enough evidence of just what a danger we are to ourselves and how it is their responsibility to protect us, then more control will be the solution, always has been and that control is becoming easier for them the more tech. is developed.

Freedom will be residing with the remark “I remember when it was all fields over there”

Same mindset as those who appease invaders, under the impression they’ll be dealt with last or get special treatment/reward :unamused: when in reality they are despised more so for their betrayals.
Well represented by those who thinks the state is omnipotent, always right, knows what’s best for us, and how best to spend (fritter waste steal) our money.

Dear App User,

I am sorry to inform you that the Self Evident App is being suspended from 21st November and the charity Witness Confident will also be closing. We have had to take this action because the police are discontinuing use of the App. This regrettable step means that
Victims and witnesses will no longer be able to send the police photo and video evidence, something Theresa May called on the police to enable in January 2016;
Frontline officers will be deprived of a tool that helps them do their job and support repeat and vulnerable victims, and which in London alone would free up over 100 officers a year; and
People reporting crime digitally will now have to use an online form that takes 20 minutes to complete. This will particularly disadvantage young and poor people, many of whom only go online using a smartphone.
If you want to find out why the App and Service are being suspended, click here.

Action
It will not be possible to use the App or access your account at JustEvidence.org from 21st November. If you are unhappy with this development, please email your MP and ask him or her to call on the Home Secretary to intervene.

If you have any queries about this decision that are not covered in this explanation, please email us back.

Kind regards,

“Turning around on a road and driving in the other direction is clearly dangerous,” he said.

Mr Pipe added: "You wouldn’t do it in a moving traffic and it’s no different to turning around following a road closure.

Dirty grasses, all brought about by an attitude of I’m better than you. It’s why they all post their little pathetic clips all over social media. I agree with reporting crimes that have a victim, either through physical harm or financial loss, that’s what we have crime stoppers for. But that was a victimless “crime” (I used inverted commas because it’s a very loose description here) and people should keep their nose well out. I wonder if the camera operators ring the old bill every time they see some kids loitering in the park, or smoking a joint. Some of those motorists might have been on their way to a hospital to see a loved one on their death bed.

A while ago the A1(M) was closed due to a crash and I (and my dashcam) witnessed an Audi Q3 reversing down the hard shoulder for maybe half a mile. He must have reversed all the way back to the previous junction. I recorded this on my dashcam and tweeted it to North Yorkshire police… Anyway I never heard anything back.

Seems north Yorkshire police don’t care

Did anyone else get caught up in the m42 chaos monday night? Someone jumped off a motorway bridge closing the southbound carriageway near junction 12. After a couple of hours waiting, all the cars were turned round and sent back to the last junction. So all the lorries were moved to the side and all the cars were sent back. Whilst this was happening, the motorway was opened and all the lorries set off, whilst cars were still going the opposite way.

Now, if car drivers were prosecuted for turning round on the m11, whoever turned them round AND whoever opened the m42 should be facing charges for a ■■■■ up of this size. Their lucky they aren’t facing manslaughter charges.

Edit:wrong junction.

I understand your frustration, here we are doing there job for them and get nothing in return! I’d have expected at least a badge or a good citizen bumper sticker.

Which school did you go to mate?
Were you one of those kids who always went running to the teacher with his hand up, shouting ''Sir Sir, those big boys are doing…etc etc ‘’., one of the ones that always got me and my mates into bother. :unamused:

We don’t like paying more tax, but we want safe roads. Solution??

Automate things, let the public help.

This is why we have ANPR everywhere, speed cameras, bus lane cameras and the like.

Police staff deserve a good wage like everyone else. Another reason they need to automate and be more resourceful with their time. If it wasn’t for these cash cows and revenue earners you think we’d magically afford more real coppers?

The only money these things earn is a direct result of law breaking, the only people that should be bothered by the camera policing are criminals!

As for civilians helping… they wouldn’t be civilians unless they were civil! It’s our role in a civilised society to assist others if we can. It’s about time the public stood up for itself and managed it’s own crime.

You’re getting ‘crime’ mixed up with ‘offences’ mate. :bulb:

If I saw somebody being murdered (ie a crime) I would maybe assist the Police, if I saw somebody jumping a red light (ie an offence) I would not, …although I would maybe make an exception for you (if you ever do anything wrong that is) as you seem to be both a supporter of lowest common denominator/easy option policing, and an advocate for a ‘grass culture’ where we drop our own kind in the ■■■■. :unamused:

Okay, so it’s easy policing. If a copper see’s one of these offenses are you saying they should turn a blind eye? Or do you feel impotent because even a camera on a stick knows your endangering the public? The public themselves know you’re endangering them.

If you can’t see the big yellow box on a stick. Stop for the big red lights. Keep yellow boxes clear. Stay out of clearly marked lanes etc… Perhaps you deserve a fine?? These things keep people safe and keep traffic flowing…

You’ve clearly don’t appreciate the rules of the road or the reasoning behind them? Ignorant to the injuries and deaths obviously.

I might add… Cameras don’t judge based on the circumstance, but they do paint themselves bright yellow! If you can’t bend the rules and spot bright yellow boxes, don’t drive.

How tf do you deduce from my post that I think ‘‘Coppers should turn a blind eye’’ ■■
Your bizzare logic is amusing mate  …,
So just because I think that self appointed police busybodies (presumably like yourself) should mind their own ■■■■ business, I am an advocator and culprit of habitual traffic offending and have no concept of either the importance of road rules adherement, or the sometimes fatal consequences of dangerous driving?? :open_mouth:
Love your use of the words ‘‘clearly’’ and ‘‘obviously’’ …yeh only in your world mate. :unamused:

Are you actually for real, taking the ■■■■… or what?

Ever heard of, you promote what you permit? You say you’re not an advocate of law breaking… but you wouldn’t share evidence of crime? Road safety concerns lives just as much as knife crime.

Either you want laws enforced for everyone’s safety or you don’t. The police is stretched and should be getting the help of the public.

All the biggest and best companies use our data, for their own gains… Why can’t we support the police?

Imagine how well people would drive if they thought every truck, car and van was a traffic camera!

jesus,what planet are you on?

using that logic it would cancel speeding and air pollution overnight due to the complete gridlock that would ensue, then everything that sat on a supermarket shelf for sale would have been delivered by some nugget with a rucksack on their back as by the time it would take a truck to get somewhere the stuff would be past its sell by date.
all you need is 1 woodentop to drive down the road at the speed limit and its instant rolling roadblock.
theres definately an abundance of wazzocks popping up here on a daily basis whether there best mates or just windup merchants… :unamused:

Ever heard of divide and conquer?
Are you having trouble understanding my points or what?? :unamused:
I’ve already pointed out the difference between crime and offence, and stated that in many cases of true crime there is a need for public help.

There is a broad spectrum of ‘‘road safety’’ ranging from riding your bike without a rear reflector to driving a car whilst ■■■■■■■ where as knife crime is a specific subject with almost inevitable severe consequences, so your analogy is irrelavent.

Bottom line is this job has turned to crap over the years enough as it is without you and your snouty mates sat at the wheel wearing your hi viz vests, fantasising that you are Robocop with a phone camera, :unamused: … grassing me and more of your fellow truckers for doing 42 in a 40…it aint your job!! :bulb:
So can I politely suggest you stick your Samsung S8 hd camera up your jacksie. :bulb:
Cheers.

Sent from my Swift2 actually…

I don’t need to argue with every point you make.

But as you mention rear reflectors, like any reflector. They are there in the event that lights fail, the user can be seen. A rule that potentially saves lives. Which leaves driving a car while ■■■■■■ as minor offence surely? Five and drive isn’t it?? I stand, swaying slightly, waiting for you to correct me on what the highway code is… Mr officer?

As you well know 42 in a 40 is nothing to worry about. 44 however… RIP… punishment by death.
