What a way to maintain a reputation.

Except for a Gardner or a Detroit
Their parts prices are eye watering too particularly for older stuff. I don’t think it relates to their actual cost and more that they have no interest in supporting old eqpt and rather buy new.
I suppose they’re a business but there’s a balance and there is definitely brand value from a reputation that your machines keep running and running. I reckon a lot of Mercedes new car sales came from a reputation from them lasting forever as taxis even though those buying new probably have no intention of keeping them more than a couple of years.

Good comment on old Mercedes taxis, selling new ones. Bit like Land-Rover’s off road ability influencing purchases of vehicles for the Surrey school.run.

I’m hearing you Dan, we’re singing from the same hymn book, but I must add the C15s I’ve driven haven’t disappointed me.
