well i have to say that with me , stobarts is as good as another, and the one thats ■■■■■■ it up round here (newark) in my eyes is dhl,
I think if he had wanted you to imagine that there were other trucks there, he should have said so! Otherwise I think you’re quite right to use all the available room.
I agree why make it harder on yourself if the room is there use it! That’s what I was taught use all room available! DHL assessments are quite similar however I had to do a geography tacho and c+e test great fun lol
had an interview/assesment with stobarts at the leeds depot what was macfarlanes a few years back now. answered all the questions correctly, flew through the driving assesment hook up drive reversing an drop off, with one of the nicest blokes i’ve ever come across in my 13 years in the industry, proper old school salt of the earth bloke. then i had to wait nigh on an hour in a stuffy portacabin for an interview with the “ops manager” which after 5 minutes i knew i’d failed when he found out i was a tipper driver and looked down his nose at me and treat me like a ■■■■■■ which instantly got my back up obviously. but never really been one to hold a grudge and other than the tool at the end i liked what i saw and i wouldn’t hesitate to apply again if the need arose

Hey, mate, I aint knocking YOU , far from it, it’s just that Stobbies never cease to amaze me how far up their own arses that they are, I mean… academy ffs they are a haulage firm!! , they give out the public PR cack that they are so much a cut above every other firm, or The Elite , and some actually believe it where as in reality they are just the same as every other firm… but with a much higher opinion of themselves … doing the same job with the same good and bad drivers and the same ■■■■ ups, admittedly I do like taking the ■■■■ out of them,but they ask for all the stick that they get, and believe me…kids life… it AINT jealousy, envy or anything else I’ve been accused of on here by the spotters but good luck with the job search anyway, and if you do get a start remember …Don’t believe the hype!
