If you take the wrong exit, you should never attempt to swerve over the chevrons back onto the motorway.

Obviously a large coil of strip missing from that shot. Presumably down a banking!
Hard to tell from the photo but there doesn’t seem to be any broken straps amongst that lot. Just the remains of the sheet!
Maybe someone thought the well would hold it!

Yeah, he probably didn’t see the two red X’s until the last minute and didn’t want to risk a fine by going through them. Lucky he swerved when he did or he could have hit the back of that recovery truck.
