Think that kit came with a Scanny 141 as well…

DEANB:
You may remember a while back when i posted the pics of the Cauvas 4x2 unit before its conversion that my
contact had mentioned that P.Brame also operated a 4x2 unit. (Number 77 on the register)I now have finally tracked it down, parked in P.Brame’s yard. Unfortunately i cannot read the number plate,
however further investigations are on going.I would imagine that the picture was taken in Winter as i note the front grill cover. I wonder if that
was a factory option or something they had made up as i have not seen one before ?0
That’s the first glimpse I’ve seen of the Brame P NGC, have posted some pic’s of their fleet before on the Saviem thread, with no NGC to be found… I must admit that at first I was a bit sceptical about Brame having owned a NGC, but alas, here’s the proof! Proper detective work once again lads!

Yes it did! Robert
This evening I have confirmation from a second reliable Dutch source that the NGC displayed at the '76 RAI show was indeed the unit supplied to Groen (16-37-FB). I will amend the register accordingly. Robert

Hey Robert, I go for this model, of course it could be an OM or UNIC to, but go for that it are two yougoslavians.
And don’t think that OM has sold that cab in YU ■■? only the older types I think.Eric,
That’s what I thought too, but am not sure. It looks like a double drive tractor, and that is a tilt behind it. A double drive tractor with a yellow cab and a red bumper, pulling a tilt in Hungary or Yugoslavia? Could it be an NG, or even the later, NG-cabbed FAP?
I found this:
youtube.com/watch?v=ghWMW25sXOU
It is a superb film. Time to start a new thread, to prevent the NGC becoming overwhelmed by East Europeans.
Hey Anorak, you have right ready for a new thread, the pic is much to misty to see it clearly.
But I go for a Fiat,I can be wrong, and there were red double drive 697’s over there, of course the Turks had lots of red Fiats too and double drives as well. think it will be a mystery for ever ■■?
imcdb ( site) has lots of pics here of lorries in films, nice thing, and often you can so find some nice films about trucks.
And now we go for a new thread and stop to irritate the ERF boys, before we get a beating of them.

Eric,
Us ‘ERF boys’ are broad-shouldered, Eric: we can take a misty Fiat or two!
Robert
We still don’t know anything about this one, parked apparently outside the offices at CDB Brussels. The pic appeared in Dai Davies’s history of ERF. I notice that it’s not in standard ERF demo livery, and with that white waist-band it looks as if it was ready to be delivered to its new operator, complete with Savoyarde tilt. Or it was in for service or repair. Either way, there must have been a company or o/d in Belgium (or even France) that matched that simple livery.
Looking through old pics I can find a few Belgian hauliers of the period in that livery: Decotrans of Wielsbeke, Devreese of Waasten and Peeters of Arendonk; but I can find little history online. Also, none has the white roof. Robert
I like that Robert ,missed it yesterday ! Mind you that has been hard work! Been looking for over 3 months
for the bugger !
Patrick, i knew i would get it in the end ! But was hard work mate, gotta keep looking. New ones are seriously
hard to find and have been for a while now. All the easy ones were found along time ago, nothing easy now !
So my friend who sent me those nice black and white shots of Eric Vick ,found this beauty on the move in his
friends collection ! He is a star, unusual to see new shots of Eric Vick or Richard Read’s ERF’s.

I love this picture! We have only a precious few pics of NGCs out on the open road and this one’s a beauty. It will be KFH 250P (as KFH 251P had been out of commission before this picture would have been taken) as they were the ones with the stripy bumpers and Kysor air-con. This is first pic I’ve ever seen with either of them with a TIR-plate on the bumper. I suspect that this was taken towards the end of its life with the VIJORE group, when those lorries were put on duties hauling steel out of Monmouth. This may be witness to their legendry prowess up Symonds Yat on the A40. Robert
Found this dutch advert online.
Bought some stuff off ebay and this turned up in one of the brochures, some sort of microfiche image.
Looks like it was taken when they did the brochure shoot as has the same united glass trailer.
Brochure picture.

Hey Robert, couldn’t it be one for France because the trailer looks very French, think a Fruehauf.
The wide spead was more something for Belgium, but the french had them too, but not so common.
On the other hand, the safety bar on the side of the trailers (obliged from '72 on) looks that it would have been one for Belgium. Can’t see if it has mudguards, obliged here, but in France mostly not used, and not yellow weight plates on the right hand site to see but ■■?
Look at the pic even this was enough if the trailer was low.

The publicity department seem to have put the couple of pics they took at Sandbach on all their early promotion stuff. Those Dutch adverts are interesting and new on me. I reckon that unit was the prototype because it didn’t have the roof vent or the external filler cap lid. Robert

That’s interesting Eric. As it was photographed at CDB it seems more likely that the unit was destined for a Belgian operator. But the trailer looks like a French Trailor Savoyarde in style. We know that TRUCK magazine used these for its Euro Tests so I suppose it’s remotely possible that one was kept at CDB for demo purposes - just guesswork! We’ll probably find out, given the rate of progress this thread has made over the last few weeks! Cheers, Robert

I suppose like you say if it was a demo it could have ended up with anyone,so we could be chasing shadows here looking for that colour scheme as in theory it could be any colour ■■
Re the microfiche image ,here is the photo of that image.
Heres another ealy model without the filler cap and roof vent.
@ DEANB ^^^^^^^. All familiar pictures to us now, and all clearly the same one, and probably taken by their publicity officer Alan Rickett. ERF’s factory colours were ‘rocket red’ and white, and in all the demo pictures I’ve seen they were in that livery. It’s the demos with registration plates we can actually get our teeth into; and of course those rare examples where we have information or anecdotal evidence connecting a specific unit/image with a subsequent company. When I first constructed my register I included all these ‘faceless’ demos, but later cut them out and left only the identifiable ones (with number plates or other distinguishing features - or both in the case of JLG 35N!). Robert

About that last pic, that wouldn’t be the driver next to the NGC then I reckon…if he drives a Rolls in his spare time
Or is it Fergie perchance…the gaffer of the well known firm Fergie’s LTD…
