^^That Raynor unit picture with the tipper trailer reminds me that the only other picture we have of an NGC with a tipper trailer is the Mentre outfit in the French advert up the page a bit. Robert
Yes,shame we cant find a proper picture of that one !
Looks like as the 70s went on ERF had a few more dealers/garages in Europe.
(Click on pages twice to make clearer for reading.)
DEANB:
Cant remember if this pic has been on before. Looks like these two are off the road ? Starting too
look a bit rough with rust in the doors etc.
It’s on page 3 of Book One! You’re right about the appearance (there’s a wiper missing too!) - I reckon it was probably awaiting cannibalisation or selling on. Robert
I’ve just seen a post on another thread with a page from ‘Headlight’ magazine. I’d forgotten about that particular journal. Actually, it was a very good truck paper and I used to buy it regularly as it wasn’t so much full of glossy pictures as filled with quite thoughtful comments on the transport industry. However, it was generally quite parochial in that it addressed domestic transport issues in the main. Notwithstanding which, there was some comment on international operations and export vehicles. I haven’t kept any of my old copies but if anyone can locate references to the ERF NGC ‘European’ in back copies, we on this thread would be thrilled to learn of them! Good luck and happy searching. Robert

For some reason headlight magazines do not come on ebay very often ?
I assume that reg N-06-00 for vehicle no 48 ( 21-96-NB ) for De Vos is its pre registration number ?

Correct! I’ll add that detail back on the register as I seem to have omitted it in recent versions. It does help to have those pre-reg numbers in brackets, precisely for photos like the one you posted. Cheers, Robert
A new one as far as i can make out. I know it looks like a Groen truck but apparently it is actually
a Rien De Vos motor. Apparently they had 3 ngc’s. I can only assume they had not got around to
spraying it. Typical that a pallet of bricks is in the way of the number plate, but it looks like when
you blow the picture up it starts 22 ■■

Streuth! Looks as if we’ve got ourselves a ‘new’ NGC there, Dean! It looks to me as if it’s in ERF’s factory colours (Rocket Red and white) so perhaps it had been a demo unit and De Vos left it in that livery - who knows? Good find, though!
This brings us to 74 documented/photographed NGCs plus 5 undocumented/photographed, equals 79 in total to date. Robert
I have to say the pic has Groen all over it when you look at the other Groen erf. However the driver that sent it to me assures me it was definately Rien De Vos,and that they had 3. I double
checked with the Groen driver who gave me the 3 pics last year as i remembered he had said
Groen had,had 2 x ERF’s still thinking this must be the other one. He said straight away “no” it was this one which was later sold to Van Rumpt.
Also have been told that a company called Noma Transport in Malle Belgium had one. From what
i can make out trying to translate the message they either pulled tankers for Wauters transport from Hamme,or maybe were taken over by them ? Im not 100% sure exactly as the translation is not that clear, but there is a tie up between the two companies. Pic attached of the colour scheme.

Good work! So, to recap: the NGC pictured above (with a possibly 22-something plate) had belonged to Rien De Vos but is probably seen here in the livery of Van Rumpt. I knew about Rumpt’s B-series but didn’t know they had an NGC. This is beginning to fall into place.
The news that Noma Transport in Belgium had one is good, and can be added to the list of unsubstantiated units. Likewise, news of a second Groen NGC - I didn’t know they had two. A very good day for our quest, Dean!

Hello Robert, No sorry maybe i did not word that very well.
The latest NGC reg 22 was owned by Rien De Vos with the other 2 we know about giving them a
total of 3.( Someone else thinks reg may be 22-44-■■ )
Groen had only 1 NGC and 1 B series. The B series was sold to Van Rumpt. (pic attached)
Hope that makes sense.

[/quote] OK I’m with you now. You were referring to the B-series, not another NGC; so Van Rumpt didn’t have an NGC after all. The rest is clear. Been trying to find stuff on Noma all afternoon but can finding nothing at all. Will try the Wauters connection this evening. Cheers, Robert
This still leaves us with six possible suspects in need of verification. The trouble is, I’ve had so many claims of ‘new’ NGCs that have turned out to be either 3MWs, 4MWs, 5MWs, 6MWs, 8MWs or even B-series that I’ve learnt that it pays to be careful! We continue to wait with baited breath for the next discovery. Robert
A kind and thoughtful post today on page 13 of the LHD 5MW thread by ‘ERF-Continental’ rather points to the Noma/Wauters ERF being a 5MW-cabbed unit. The post revives an earlier discussion between he and John (‘Saviem’) about this issue. I am grateful to him for locating it. Robert

Good thats saves us wasting time looking for that one then !
The trouble is after 40 years people’s memories i think become a bit confused sometimes which is fully understandable. One can only re search trucks that people tell you about ? Most of the people that tell you about lorries are in there 70s/80s now and obviously they are not trying to
give you false information, but things sometimes are not what they think they were. This is understandable with regard to steel cab MW5 & MW7’s . Some people refer to them as Belgium/Continental and European ■■?

That’s because before we entered the EEC the 3MW/5MW cabs were sent out to be assembled by ■■■■■■■ Distribution Belgium as CKDs (completely knocked down kits) to avoid high import taxes. ERF-C was assembling a record of these at one time. Cheers, Robert
