Enquiring mind

Many HGV job adverts state Tramping or Day tramping, what does this mean?

Tramping can be away all week with nights out in the cab, pick up a load, deliver it, empty to the next load point.
Day tramping is when the driver is home at night with no nights out.

Away all week usually, say, away Monday back Friday or maybe Saturday morning for example.

At home with no nights out Toby? Thats just day work.
Day tramping would be driving during the day and sleeping in the truck at night as opposed to night tramping where you work/drive overnight but sleep in your truck during the day.

Anything with the word tramping in it means it’ll involve sleeping in the lorry and living like a tramp.

Avoid. It’s not worth it.

I have read many of your posts on TNUK and noticed that your humour is very dry. I like it…a lot!

" sleeping in a lorry and living like a tramp "- nearly spilt my cup of tea ■■■■■■■ myself!!!

You’re welcome.
