English 620 V8's

Farm near me runs a 620 Pulling its Livestock… Monk Bros. I’ll try and grab pics…

Gaz:
What the hell do Stevens carry that mean they can justify or afford 11 620’s■■? :unamused:

what a strange (jealous?) comment - when i was quoted, the difference between the 560 and the 620 was £3000, over 5 years and with a good driver it’d cost pennies per mile more :bulb: i went for an FH16 660 instead by the way :grimacing:

Got this little bugger in Rownhams this morning enjoy - I would!

Here’s a Pic of D Steven & Son SK08 AOZ entering Portmouths Ferry Terminal en-route France. They have 620’s for that complex set of hill’s near Beridale on the A9 in the far North (20 mile’s Sth of Wick) I would say but creature comforts as well… Interestingly the 08’s they have are actually 58’s but because 5+8 =13 and that number is linked to superstition they put them as 08 personnalised plate’s.

Neither strange nor Jeleous thanks!!!

Read every review of any tractor over 500 bhp in any magazine and they will tell you the same thing. No 44 tonne tractor really needs that kind of Power, they said just the same of your 660.

As a heavy haulage tractor they make perfect sense, they can justify the expense and extra power.

As a flagship motor they make sense in a way, just as a statement or reward for a long service driver maybe.

All i was saying is that as a fleet motor, which they seem to be using them as, its a little over the top!

I would prefer 1 x 620bhp and the other 10 as maybe 500’s. Then i’d stack the 5 years worth of difference in the monthly payments and the fuel saved in a bloody massive ceramic pig in the bottom of my garden!!!

And after all, a 500bhp Topline is nothing to be sniffed at!

P.S. Do you get upset when 770 Volvos steam past you up hills? :grimacing:

the stevens fleet actually makes sense if you consider the terrain they cover and i would think they want to run at speed with the 620 runing south from the high lands does make sense not only on fuel but also on engine wear you wouldnt be knocking the nuts of the engine so in theory your engine wont go ang so soon

gaz a volvo wouldnt get near a scania anyway

what sort of work do you think we do  not that it changes the fact of why shouldn’t anyone have one at 44te, even 28te if they want

they only do a 700 mate, and with the difference of 50Nm I doubt it’d steam past really :sunglasses:

U are indeed correct, in fact if i’m not mistaken one of the first 660’s in the country belonged to an owner driver doing car parts to the continent on a 4x2, each to their own i suppose!!!

And yes, i would have either if i could afford one of my own!!!

terry,s 620 driven by ben. mark young transport have a 620 which is the sister truck to terry,s

Now thats nice. I’ll have some of that please !!! :stuck_out_tongue: :stuck_out_tongue: :stuck_out_tongue: :stuck_out_tongue: :bulb: :stuck_out_tongue: :stuck_out_tongue:
