Engines ticking over

I get a daily bonus for driving performance based on telematics data from the unit i.e idling, revs, braking etc.

So I never idle, I even turn off at traffic lights if they’re slow.

do you know how much fuel is wasted when starting an engine?

Not as much as idling in traffic.

Quite. Fuel required to fire engine up is less than required to run engine on idle for 30 seconds.
Why do lots of new cars now have Stop/Start systems for now if not to save fuel/emissions (since they are taxed on g/km CO2)?

I doubt a modern engine uses any extra fuel to start it.
