engine malfunction control unit

Hi guys just started work on a Man truck that I’ve recently bought and from first day with the trailer on it the engine red light and malfunction engine control unit came on board. I took it to Man twice and they have replaced all the injectors. It still does that and uses a lot of fuel. I’ve heard that sometime even a fuel cap can cause waste of fuel and the engine light to appear on dashboard.
Did any of had this problem? I need to sort it out

Many thanks

Description: ITS A MAN!!!

Joking aside, I have had this come up myself, the company wouldn’t repair it and I am guessing it is down to the extortionate cost to repair the ECU, especially on such an old vehicle.

I did end up refusing to take it next time as it did go into “Limp Mode” and I was crawling up a hill on the M1 at 10mph whilst weighing about 39 tonnes.

Technically a RED warning light is a VOR Defect.

The message would read “MALFUNCTION Engine Control Unit”
