Employed by DHL drive for next information!

Right guys my interview got moved to this Wednesday (22nd) I now have tine to prepare and gather some information. I just wondered if anyone drives for next and can shed any light or give me any information that might help me as I have surfed the internet for hours and can not find anything!

Many thanks in advance.

Not quite sure, are you after interview advice or about next? Or both

Dan,

From what I’ve read on the main forum, DHL hold the logistic contracts for various companies, just like other logistic companies do. i.e. Stobarts, Wincanton etc…

So you might work directly for DHL, but to the customer you look like you work for Next.

Thant’s how I understand it, and if I’m wrong, I’m CERTAIN I will be told!

Ok fair do’s,

Btw who needs a search engine, just ask Evil

All I will say is that they have been looking for drivers to do this for at least a year, I have turned it down twice. I think it was Driven logistics who last tried to get me on it. DHL are not good to agency drivers and they wonder why they struggle to get people working for them. At interview ask about the start times and if you are expected to unlock stores, deal with alarms etc. and if it is constant night work.

Good question tips Alder, but as a newbie would you still say it’s a bad move for a new driver looking for experience?

Asking because I want to know, nothing funny! (this time!)

As mentioned above, you could be delivering to stores during trading hours which means there “might” be someone to at least try to help you get stuff off the truck. DHL aren’t that bad to work for, they are just super “■■■■” about checks etc.

thank you for the reply’s guys, basically dhl hold the logistics contract for next like you said so im employed by DHL but look like im working for next. I just wondered what there trucks were like are they auto or manual ect they look pretty clean and smart when I have seen them around and they have a drivers mate with them. It is not night work as you are delivering to customer homes and always have a drivers mate so sounds good right? interviews been moved to next Thursday now at 10am so have more time to prepare myself ect the way he is speaking its sounding like he is already giving me the job as he is asking about my notice period ect, that’s the general vibe im getting anyway  like I said I can not find any information on the internet really, im not being lazy and not looking I just cant find anything that’s why I have asked the professionals ( you guys :grimacing: )
