Looks like they could be the Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) prime movers?
From the local rag…“A specialist urban search and rescue team from Merseyside was brought in to assist due the structural uncertainty of the building”.
There’s a pic of the de-mounted units on site in the paper, can’t find owt on-line though.

if you grew up in the Sixties watching Thunderbirds on TV then years later you get a job in engineering making specialist rescue equipment then it must leave a lasting impression, Thunderbird 2 was wayyyyyyyy coolest
