Mentioned this to my wife last night in the car and her words were " why would you speed through when it flashed earlier in the week? What a plonker,". Sadly I think she’s not alone. I go through there at least three times a week and I always stick to 40. In your defence I have seen many go through it at speed and never seen it flash.
If they ever do those three on the A17 near Cranwell I probably will be donating

I have drove past this camera for months on end and yes i was doing 52mph
Before we get technical i know the limit is 40mph but it has never flashed before
However this week it has flashed me twice and i read this is a new camera that can detect the vehicle size and limit
So looks like i have 6 points coming to my licence grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
It’s been like that for a while now, it’s not worth it going down the A605, I’ve seen the camera van parked on their a few times too, hopefully one will be a speed awareness course for you.
Also you never know, my ticket never came through from the A52 Barrowby Hill, another point is my mate still goes through Barrowby Hill at over 50mph every time he goes down there and it never goes off, maybe my time was a one off.

There would only be about 10 drivers left at my place if that happened, the 10 that were on holiday the week before lol
ROG:
WHY did you decide to exceed the limit in the first place?
Rog, we drive a million mile a year, sometime we get it wrong, not on purpose but we are only human.
If anyone can honestly say they never broke any particular driving law then i will show you a liar.
we all do it so “he who casts the first stone” etc.
we don’t always decide to exceed the speed limit but hey ho [zb] happens sometimes we lose a moments concentration.
as much as your qualifications elude to surely even you can give a little, it’s no longer a perfect world out there for us drivers.
anyone can drive correctly under perfect situations but nowhere on this planet is the perfect situation always available.
Which is worse - the driver who goes over and knows it or the driver who goes over and has no idea?
I say the second because it means a lack of driver concentration which is worse than making a conscious choice
Going over the limit and knowing it is often just breaking the law but a lack of concentration is usually a lack of safety
Did you actually drive through a camera at 50+mph on a SC which flashed you, and then the following two nights even after it has already flashed you, you did the same speed or thereabouts past it?

Yes of course we cannot always get it right but 52 in a 40 is a bit out of order. That was not a mistake. The op said he has driven past it many times and never been flashed so he thought he could get away with it.
This just proves cameras do work.
Cameras are certainly not the best way of preventing dangerous driving but anyone who does 52 in a 40 deserves all they get.
The problem with fixed cameras is speeding drivers suddenly slam their brakes on.
Totally unprofessional driving whether in a truck or a car.

Ahh the war cry of the self righteous ignoramous who justifies his actions in the deluded belief that everyone else does something wrong at some point.
This may come as a shock but there are a few drivers out there that drive in a professional manner and obey the speed limits etc.
Unfortunately I’m not one of them and I’m just as bad as everyone else so carry on with a light stoning

I am def not self righteous or an ignoramus but am honest enough to state i am not the perfect driver as you may be so I do make mistakes, it’s called being human.
lets not get into a slanging match just a general debate

Apologies my last sentence was supposed to show I’m just as bad as everyone else, if I’m honest probably worse

no problem “shakes hands”
“shakes hands and a big manhug” back at ya. sometimes text based communication doesn’t allow me the freedom of tongue in cheek expression I get away with down the pub.
