The company I work for is based in Yorkshire. We are looking at getting a couple of wagons for our job but they would be based on a contract in a different traffic area.
The question is would I be able to name myself on the O License with it been in a different traffic area? I’d be going to the site once a week to ensure the drivers are doing what they should be (walk rounds etc) but would run them from the head office as part of my full time job.
Would the TC accept this as been in “effective and continuous control”?
Cheers,
I’d say to be sure you’d be better asking the TM themselves or going to the government body that covers o licenses.
This is a forum and as such it will have some telling you its fine, some telling you its not and some telling you its “ok as long as A,B & C”
Ive seen threads on here go to 7 pages with guys arguing about whether you can sit in lane 3 of a motorway if lane 1 is closed so I wouldnt trust
anything I read on here as gospel.
Nothing against the replies, its just you’ll not get a definitive answer
We have the same TM for two sites and it hasn’t been a problem in 17 years.
If the maintenance/walk rounds/hours are right, I don’t believe it will be an issue.
