Effect of Arthritis therapy

Arthritis is a chronic joint disorder causing inflammation of joints, it is well-known owing to its prevalence since decades. Constant pain is common in the affected joints. Stiffness of joints restrict movement, physical inactivity is a common condition in Arthritis. Varied levels of pain are common in the various forms of Arthritis. The major forms of Arthritis are Osteoarthritis, Rheumatoid Arthritis and Gouty Arthritis. Osteoarthritis is prevalent in aged adults, it is the most common form of Arthritis. Gouty Arthritis is caused by the deposition of Uric acid crystals in the joint resulting in inflammation. It occurs in a joint and later it affects many joints and can be crippling. The joints in Gout become swollen and lose function. Gouty Arthritis is painful and it can be debilitating if untreated. Ayurveda provides effective treatment against the various forms of Arthritis with the inception of Arthritis therapy. The specific therapy is proven successful against Arthritis since decades. External therapies such as Abhyanga or therapeutic oil massage, Podikkizhi or powder bolus massage, Elakizhi or leaf bolus massage, Njavara or rice bolus massage are used in treatment for Arthritis. Other therapies include Lepanam or medicinal paste application, Sneha Vasthi or oil enema and Kashaya Vasthi or decoction enema. Rheumat tablet and Rheumarid tablet are pain relievers and also effective in relieving Rheumatic conditions. There is also Rheumat Liniment, an external application effective in instant pain relief. The complete treatment for recovery from Arthritis requires 21 days, however, the duration of the treatment depends on the chronic condition of the illness.
