Edward Stobart, the lorry boss who turned Eddie Stobart haulage into household name, died penniless.
Papers released by the haulage magnate’s estate revealed he filed for bankruptcy last July after pressure from creditors looking to recover £220,000 in debts.
Insolvency practitioner RSM Tenon was appointed to look into the bankruptcy, which was dealt with by Warwick County Court.
An RSM Tenon spokesman said: ‘Known creditors have claims amounting to around £220,000. No material assets have yet been recovered. The investigations are ongoing.’

Eddie I gather was a clever fella! And I’m sure he made arrangments for his family!
Edward Stobart put his money into trying to rescue parts of a well known trailer manufacturer He bought into Boalloy Fastruckwho where the first manufacturer to build the tensioned curtainsider known as the Tautliner.
Gerald Broadbent invented it and all the others followed his lead

he did not have any money in the first place it was the banks

Lads, if you think someone like Eddie Stobart would leave this earth and his family being pennieless, think again.
Maybe the company he ran that went into administration or bust, then yes it owes money, but a clued up cookie would make allowances for his family and not put them in jeapody, yes some do to keep the job going but ES, i dont think so.
I don’t think you will hear of his missus, partner, kids or whoever being skint.
