Does anyone know if Eddies Transport from Scunthorpe actually uses British drivers on the Polish run anymore? He’s got a few trucks on Polish plates now, and even atleast one on Bulgarian plates! I know Eddie himself is Polish and has somesort of depot in Rybnik, I’d imagine all the international drivers, espcially on the Polish run were Polish now?
im suprised his wagons get out of scunthorpe they always look right tired old things.
Ihave to disagree with you mate as I have seen his trucks over here
on the road going towards hanover- berlin or in poland it,s self and
thry could show a few of the german firms up as the wagons that
I saw were okay. but then of course I may have seen only the new
wagons?
Eddies Transport is abit of an odity really, they have a mixture of the very glamourous and the very crap, both with regards to cabs and trailers.

well i agree with you he will send the best to poland and if they have polish drivers they will proberley stay on the euro side and do change overs.
What you may think of as not up to standard, may be to some one else
as okay for the job, were I work we use MAN with a small sleeper
cab,and 280bhp engines, WHY because the more weight we can
take away when we load our TANKS this means more money for
our employer .as every kilo over a certain weight is worth extra payment
on top of the freight price , These lorrys do Holland,France.Poland, etc.

That someone else being the employer presumably as what driver would choose to do long distances in trucks like that.
Your are right, but stuipid as it sounds also wrong ; AT present here
in Germany with 5.5+ million unemployed, The employers have the
upperhand and as in GB here also we are under pressure from
cheaper outside labour, I have seen adverts for INTERNATIONAL—
—DRIVERS like in GB where the wages are stated as in pounds as
follows. Job1. 750-month Job2. 600–month. these are after tax and
with out expenses added ,which might add 200–300 to the total.
this sum is for a average 210-220 hour month and 1-2 weekends
away from home. OF course they are good firms as well over here
but as with any good firm you seldom find that they need to adverttise
for drivers. When they require a new one.
