Excellent models and choice of era to build from, these lorries had a lot of class about them which you have captured very well. Love the Sabrina which you hardly ever see, you’ve made a great job of it.
Rich.
Some crackin models there Eddie, good to see the wee Scania fire engine finished. Having done a wee bit of scratch building a can appreciate the time and effort you must put in - brilliant. the pictures don’t do them justice. I would advise any one who gets a chance to see Eddies’ models in the flesh to take it - they are fantastic.
Eddie that “Highwayman” is brilliant and having drove that model for a couple of years I can’t recall the spray being a problem but I was on heavy haulage and they had low speed diffs so only did between 37 mph and 44 mph but I did know a couple of lads who drove them for Sid Harrison and I can’t recall them complaining about the spray and they would do well over 60 mph.
cheers Johnnie
Thanks for the kind comments lads they certainly get the nostalgia going, I know when I take them to Biggar show and you get some of the older drivers going over the things that happened to them there is usually a lot of diesel burned in the gazebo.
That Wardle ERF is excellent, heres a couple of pictures I took of the real thing at Barnard Castle a few years back:
Fantastic models… I loved the bit about making wheel centres from Fairy Liquid bottle tops. I’m not knocking anyone who builds a model from a kit, that’s what I do but scratchbuilding is a completely different level.
Thanks Harry nothing gets thrown out untill I have wee look and a think about wheather it would come in handy or not.Eddie.
Amazing

all i can say is wow i really love the tanker looks so real and love the other two artic scanias i used to build the plastic truck kits a few years ago but wife didnt like them so got rid (big regret) the most difficult i ever built was a peterbilt heavy wrecker had a hell of a lot of chrome parts and was one hell of a truck keep up thegreat work mate
ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT!!! These scratchbuilt models and Bubbs photo gallery!!! Two Gems if ever there was, excellent!! Keep up the good work, the site can’t do without lads like you and your contributions.Cheers Dennis.
Thanks Dennis I enjoy making them and they allways get the nostalgia going If I take them to show’s or rally’s so they seem to be doing the same on here. Eddie.
Eddie
what a wonderful array of lorries, where on earth do you keep them all ? you must have very understanding wife.
Keep up the good work and post a few more pictures. regards Big Al
Hi Eddie, what a wonderful set of photos, your talent for scratchbuilding is truly excellent. I have started out on the same road and I am just finishing my latest build, but they are no where near as good as yours. Your models really give me something to aspire to.
Thanks very much for sharing them.
Ian
Big Al Thanks for the nice comments, regarding where do I keep them, most of them are stored in the loft in egg boxes which each hold 6or8 models these are also used as transport to the odd show the rest are on display in the wee room I call the 24hr workshop and Anna my wife is into card making so its a Crafty Wee Hoose.
Ian I have been watching your models on the TMW site and I can tell you I started out the same way with just a photo to work from a sketch of the side view of the cab is the only drawing I do and I still do it that way yet, And a wee word about some of the negative comments you recieved Ian Ignore them because most of them wont have attempted a cab. You will find every one gets better and you also never stop finding new and diffrent ways of building them its a great all year round hobby KEEP ON ENJOYING IT, Eddie.
Hi Eddie, many thanks for your kind words of encourgement. Like you, I build the trucks for myself, so if I’m happy with them then I’m happy! Looking forward to seeing more of your models, they really are superb mate.
cheers
Ian
