It’s embarrassing, having to work for shelf stacker/ maccy d wages
Glad you’ve seen the light,it’s no fun having to use soup kitchens, scavenge though the supermarket bins on your break to try and find clothes, even the pound shop is becoming a once a month luxury.,now me and the mrs and 5 kids share one room, rent the rest of the house out ,keeps a roof over our heads for now.

759 for 5 days bloody hard graft
Run a bloody mileAlmost as much as I get for 6 days with Turners and 3 nights out
Know one of our lads who went to your place, said there’s not much in it money wise, haven’t rang him for a bit so not sure if he’s there, another went there and left, did evenings, but long hours and didn’t see kids, think another went but again not sure if still there.
I rang for a application in feb, when we had redundancies, but never got one( can you blame them![]()
).
Think I’d prefer the work, but long hours don’t appeal anymore, but you never know I might just make a appearance one day.
N.b it’s alright mate, I was joking, not really comming, you can tear that notice letter up![]()
Well there not wrong, they are long days alright, you know it would be a fantastic job if the trailer was always loaded and you could just crack on with it. It hasn’t been too bad this week, even got an 8 1/4 hour day yesterday (my first 8hour day in 9 months). I don’t know if it is the job for me long term, I do tend to like to keep jobs and not swap and change. I will probably end up going on locals in a few years, hopefully that will give me a better work/life balance. The good thing is there is soooooo much work everyday is different!
average around 600 take home …but be carefull thye might need ya truck …and they’ll drag ya back and send ya home while agency goes out in it

Thanks Jason for your detailed post.
There have been so many Stobart threads, I’ve checked most of them if not all, and could never find out what they really pay.
Night trampers?
What’s this all about?
It’s difficult enough being day tramper and trying to get some sleep night time, so being night tramper and sleeping day time in a lay bay, industrial estate, even a truck stop (providing a company wants to pay for it) must be a night mare and a sure short cut to an early grave.

also international N/O rate is £29 which make sense to be over water
edited to add fuel bonus

Looks about right, not to me,based on 55 hrs, trampers,I honestly can’t believe there’s many stobart trampers doing 11 hrs per day, parked up for 13 hrs per day, maybe now and then .
I’d suggest there on more money than that quoted,b/h pay,o/t shift,15 hrs on a Sunday is £45 more than there suggested 11 hrs on a sun ,Saturday the same,£30+.,15 hrs days etc
I think thurs -mon tramping is a fair bit more than 32 k,and if it is right then they might as well jack it in and go on tues- sat days

Oh dear dozy, let me explain it to you .Its just an example of what a driver could earn based on an average of 55 hrs. If a driver worked more hours he would earn more, if he worked less hours he would earn less. Do you understand now?

Its earnings based on an average of 55hrs
But the vast majority of stobart trampers don’t do 55 hrs so why base it on that, most do 65 /67/70 hrs p.wso why not base it on that so you would get a true reflection of what you would earn working a thurs- mon shift, tramping for stobarts
But hey thanks for explaining it too me

dozy,
Isn’t it possible that you’ve missed the point?
Everybody else has realised that what was given is called an EXAMPLE based on an assumed working week of 55hrs. (As an example )
People realise that the number of actual hours worked in a week can vary a bit, so they could then adapt the EXAMPLE to suit eh?
IMHO, it was a great post that very clearly explained the wage structure, including an EXAMPLE, so that readers could see how it works out.
I’ll not use any rolly eyes emoticons, because there aren’t enough of them left in the stores.
Am I the only 1 wondering if Dozy and Toby are related?
Toby is entertaining though
