Is it me anyone can polish up a new motor lets see what there like after a few years graft i cringe at the state of this industry if this is all we have to look forward to.
They didnt they just washed it then used a leather to wipe it, Hardly hard polishing graft!
Dust on the sunvisor! lol
On a tipper, the dusty sunvisor’s great for noting down phone numbers-and insults to the next driver if it’s a spare truck Can’t understand why anyone would worry about cleaning that much. I spent about 15 minutes all week on mine, and certainly wouldn’t do it in my own time.

Ok guys, i’ve read all the posts, the comments about me being a bighead, a queer, a knob etc, its water off a ducks back. What i want to clarify is the train, “he’s stuck on the kerb, he’s hit the train” garbage. Like many of you lads on here i use the train alot over the years, when you have a camera crew filming you your whole attitude changes, i felt very uncomfortable being filmed and miked up for 36 hours. I drove onto the train and cut in a fraction early, looking in the mirror i thought christ i’m a bit close to the kerb so i got out to make sure i had enough room, being dark a 2" gap becomes invisible, and there was no way was i gonna scrape the trailer on bloody national tv, all was well so carried on. Nerves i suppose. Good old channel five hyped it up for a bit of drama and it worked! My co driver is a bloody natural with a camera stuck in his face, i’m not!
Doesn’t matter what anyone calls you, there isn’t one driver on here that wouldn’t swap places for your job even if it did mean becoming a stobart
Clever editing made you look like a bit of a diddy tbh, but without sounding cheeky a diary wouldn’t go a miss of your future F1 exploits
i think nearly everyone could agree with you their, never had the joys of the train yet but im pretty sure id mess it up big time lol

Looking at the train every time I drive on it, it has several serious dents and scrapes, they have tried various methods of stopping this, with higher bollards, snow poles and educational films in the x-ray office.
For those who have never been on it, there is not much room for error, but if you get it right it feels satisfying, if you get it wrong there is very little chance of correcting things without damage. it is even worse when you are the last one on and the mini bus is waiting for the driver. Several nationalities taking the ■■■■ in unison
all we ever hear is how they have to get the fridges on the g.t.s system so we become super efficient like the general side of the buisness, zb hell watching these programes i dont think they hit a deadline, loads rejected, drivers not having a clue what to do when the m6 is shut.
if this is stobarts idea of super efficient god help us[or better still leave us as we are].
yes and as they said over a year it worth a fair few hundreds of pounds ,
anyway im sorted now, i finally found out why some are getting it every day, on certain jobs its gar, there paying it whetheryou achieve 100% or 1 %, ive now said im quite happy to do multi-drops all the time
Is it just because of this series or Stobarts getting around Oxford a lot more? Saw loads of them on A34 yesterday and saw one of those biomass wagons on A40 Witney bound. First time I’ve seen one, wondered if they’re running to/from the new food recycling place at Cassington. Haven’t seen Fiona yet

I must admit whenever I see one of those fridge wagons I look to see if it’s her.
Well I’ve just watched a part of Episode 6 where the two F1 guys are on their way on the open road…I haven’t seen a comment about this so far but if someone else has mentioned it then I apologise…but Stuart…as Hollywood is driving down to Dover, you’ve been filmed resting on the bunk whilst the vehicle is in motion…
Now, I always thought this was very illegal, for obvious reasons!? Or am I just wrong here? Also…Surely its illegal to have 3 people in the cab of a moving truck when only 2 seats are available for use■■? :S

I think you’re wrong.
It’s been often discussed, but I’m pretty sure the bunk is ok to be used whilst vehicle is in motion as long as it has restraints - most have.

The restraints would be a Godsend when doublemanning with Fiona-and I’d get the fuel consumption down!
hmmmm…why did it become so difficult to reverse a tanker instead of a curtain sided trailer?.. you can still see the whole bloody thing in your mirrors, i’d say they would be [zb]if they had a flat with varying load types how would you ever cope?..

Why is it illegal to lay on the bunk while someone else is driving? You are thinking of the rules about taking a daily rest in a moving vehicle, a break is not a rest and if you put the nets up you will stay in bed

No…I knew you deffinately couldn’t take daily/weekly rest in a moving vehicle, but I thought the only way you could take driving or WTD breaks in a moving vehicle was in the passenger seat (proper seatbelt)…lets face it, those crappy little nets aren’t going to stop you going through the windshield in a crash.
