he seems to have 2 or 3 uk regd toplines operating out of the topaz service station in dublin docks. ive also seen subbies pulling his trailers around ireland

Hey Conor thats true we reload Corby, Corby and Heywood J19 Ind Est and there both Stobarts but I reckon hed find it hard pressed gettign spaces on the boat unless they were sold out to him, maybe his next challenge or as said already maybe he’ll start his own ferry crossings?
I wouldn’t put it past themm. There’s plenty of moored up ferries for sale and the ports are getting a drop off in ferry traffic. Heard rumours there might be a reduction in the number of ferries out of Hull as freight traffic was virtually non-existent.
i know there is irish company subbying for stobbarts at the moment all in stobs colours and using top-line scanias but i have seen a plain navy blue top-line scania pulling a stobs curtainsider!
Two stobart drivers were refused entry at Larne about ten years ago.
I was questioned about why i was pulling a stobart trailer when i came off the P+O, but it was ok as it was going to be broken up, so they let me through. Which was nice.
Stobarts have started loading out of a leading soft drinks company in Northern Ireland in the last few months.
I saw my mate big Chris in the pub, he told me that he is running in and out
of the docks tipping and loading trailers, we worked together for the green
machine for years on the European side. So if you see a guy who looks like
captain birdseye, go and say hello to him he is a cracking bloke.
Stobart has set up a base in Dublin. He’s bought out TDG. He’s sending most of his trailers through P&O Dublin and Norfolk Line. Seems to have a couple of his own men working over here full time along with the subbies, mainly all men who used to pull for TDG. Daryl Curran, AF Davidson etc.
Seen one of Mr Stobarts drivers driving through the new bypass roadworks at Newry… with his phone to his ear! Naughty boy! Not setting a good exampe Mr Stobart driver!

like you already have said we have alot of subbies doing our work out of heywood and corby including sawyers norfolk line mcculan man frieght and some more owner drivers they also bring stuff in from ireland for us to deliver but in the long run it would be cheaper for stobart to deliver the stuff him self rather then give it to subbies like norfolkline and now that hes got a place in dublin (tdg) he can just send solo trailers across and they can be picked up from the other end and delivered to were ever they are going
I can’t really see Stobarts being “bumped off” the Irish ferries as the account is for all ferry travel isn’t it?
e.g. Cross channel Norfolk Line as well as Irish Sea all gets paid into one account with Norfolk line.
So unless the ferry company was willing to lose the business to another company i’d have thought everybody would have been given a fair chance of getting on.
Strange really as out of our depot at Hams Hall,Mulgrew still do the transport to Ireland,i’d have thought we’d have took it over, maybe it may happen in the future.
