Eddie Stobart At Felixstowe

Further to this, have just been speaking to a Stobart driver on the dock and apparently they are taking over Wincantons container side!

this could just be drivers rumour though!

Something is happening, Wincantonski`s share price has gone up again, and ESLs has gone down slightly, someone is in the know

I think Wincanton got in to containers just before the recession hit, nice work! I would say most container haulage is pretty dire so maybe they’re getting shot, surprised if they sell it to the enemy though.

if there that desparate to get shut they’ll sell it to who ever will give them the cash for it the want…

I don’t think there container side is going, they have developed a pda just for their cabs, CLICS system.
Oooops, wrong post to edit

Stobarts are currently moving containers for MSC container line because it is there busy period and is expected to last upto 3 months max.MSC aproach ESL every year in the busy period as MSC ship a lot of containers by train into the Widnes depot(formerly O’connors)

I always assumed ESL were shifting Merchant boxes - Gerber/Tesco’s, not general MSC haulage.

It was Mearsk (?) boxes they took up to Wincanski’s Storage area up at Alconbury.

I’m wondering if they have just got that contract cos Roadways used to do that job and they are so quiet at the moment. All their Blue Scannys have been sat around for at least 3 weeks. Only the White Volvos have been out.

delivered to there airport at southend this morning looks like they spending lot of money on it down there didnt see no stobart planes though lol :open_mouth:

the felixstowe job is to do with o"conners the container side of stobarts and the drivers who are on it are from appleton depot,99% of tesco containers come in to middlesboro(teesport),its just busy at o"conners at the moment and thats why were doing it

i asked my planner where his green uniform was… his reply was “its on its way it seems” did pass 4 empty skel drivers from alconbury heading the docks at 7pmish… cant understand why empty when they are empty boxes at alconbury that are for felixstowe…
