Big Volvo and M A N people in recent years. Could signal a change for other operators.

Iveco + Salt = Problems

I it
V vibrates
E everything
C comes
O off
Bang your elbow on fridge lid, electric mirrors are a pain, can’t tip seat back bed in the way. 24v socket in passenger foot well. If you forget about isolator everything goes of in the night, phone doesn’t charge so alarm doesn’t go off!!!

The badge snobs are at it already !!! , try anything to run down a sensible robust truck , and almost ill at the thought that an operator has actually hand the bad manners to buy a Stralis .

I’m not a badge snob, the 2 I drove for a couple of years were simply crap, cheap and nasty. I’d prefer a 10 year old Daf.

Had the pleasure of driving Stralis`s the last 9 years , running at 44t , 24hrs x7 days per week with a mix of our own and agency drivers and have been very little trouble , unlike the I shift FM Volvos which they replaced , where do I start ? ,sun roofs leaking ,trim falling off , wipers falling off, I shift boxes continually having major problems , mid axle tyres very high wear rates , need I go on .

Iveco + Work = Problems

Volvos are way way overrated in my opinion, the new ones are already getting on my ■■■■, I haven’t even driven one yet…I wouldn’t call myself a badge snob but I know a zb truck when I see one…

Also see they have a demo Mercedes pulling a tipper.

I’m not the only one with bad luck then. :frowning:

drove the new iveco at commercial motor live and thought they had improved tremendously. maybe time to see if they have got rid of all the old little flaws…

I drive a 13 plate stralis the old shape not the highway. So far I have had no real issues, apart from a bottom hose that came loss from a bracket and rubbed through, but at the end of the day that could happen to any truck mark, as the work we do is on alot of tips ect so not smooth tarmac all day long.
Now I know what we pay a month for this truck and I can say its the highest profit margin truck on the fleet with out doubt, its good on fuel ect and really a great truck to live in all week space wise.
Why people knock them I do not know for me it will do, its here to do a job which up to know in my opinion it’s doing well :sunglasses: :sunglasses:

Weetmans are not fools, they would have assessed this Iveco before signing the dotted line, they have been in business a long time and not stayed there by being foolish, only time will tell if they have made the right choice with the truck, I drove an earlier Strallis and the only complaint I had was that it was heavier on fuel that other makes by about 1 mpg, but really that could been a number of factors including me and I only had it for a month.
Its easy to tar the new Iveco’s with the old Iveco brush and lets face it the old ones were dire in many ways.

Me too. Every Iveco I’ve driven, of whatever age, has been a pile of ■■■■■■ Badly designed and built. I’d prefer a twenty year old ERF.

We’ll I like a big man but then again I am funny that way lol…

Nothing wrong with the Stralis, but the Eurocargo on the other hand :smiling_imp: :smiling_imp:

I’ve been driving a stralis for 15 months now and have been more than happy with it , working at 44 tonnes all day long , its been reliable ,economical and comfortable and once you’ve become accustom to its isolator nights away in it a pleasure ,acre’s of room ,warm cab, anyone who dismisses the brand because of the iveco badge isn’t giving them the credit they disserve, anyone who dismisses them through a poor previous experience with the marque that can marr anyone’s opinion but let’s remember all truck marques have bad examples without exemption, and my employer must like them because by the turn of the year we’ll have 5 on the fleet !
