Economical driving.

Is that on the fosse way as I do that exact run Chippenham to Nuneaton every week and I’m sure it’s less than 126 miles?

I made it! You are quite right OAD, as I neared the M4 I breathed a sigh of relief when I realised the sat nav was expecting me to join the M4 and presumably the M5 later on. Obviously I went straight over which knocked 20 miles straight off. Also when I reached Cirencester it wanted me to turn left and go down Birdlip, again I ignored it and the Fosseway took more miles off.

My only slight concern was the short sharp hills on the Fosseway, my thinking being that if the fuel pick up was at the front of the tank I could be in bother.

It is a strange state of affairs however when Toby himself becomes the voice of reason! . To put your mind at ease Toby they took our fuel cards off us two years ago after some drivers were abusing them (M6 toll etc) and decided we must fill up at other depots. Problem is most depots are a bit off route and small, so they require us to drop our trailers before filling up which becomes a PITA.

Also strangely the UK has no say in fuel purchases, it’s all done through France via the tank telemetry. All well and good until Jean Paul is on holiday as is the case now and nobody can fill our empty tanks in our yard!

Anyhoo, like I say, I made it with a bit to spare (ignore the temp guage as it brings a whole new meaning to the word “optimistic”)

Where is the temp gauge on the picture■■?
