As a rule, the higher the price is, the smaller the quantity which is purchased and the greater the quantity which is offered. As drivers pay rates diminished, the greater was the number of hours which drivers offered to work in order to maintain their income. Now that pay rates are rising, drivers are able to reduce the hours they offer to work and still maintain their income. How is this conundrum to be resolved?
On local work have two shifts Driver 1 starts at 06 AM works til 15.00 and driver 2 takes over and works a back shift.

Start advertising jobs at 40hrs a week like normal people work and get some of those who quit because they didn’t want to do 60hrs plus a week back into the job. Also do this thing called funding training and pay for people to go through their test. Whilst there’s not a lot of people who want to be lorry drivers there are still enough who want it who can’t afford to fund their licence themselves to make it worthwhile doing.
In theroy if we was all payed more and could work less hours then there would be a problem.
But most will just carry on thinking of the money doing all the hours they can.
Personally of I could.id jump at the chance to work less hours for.more money.
But guess depends on everyone’s money situation
Doesn’t help when contracts usually state hours of work are as and when company needs etc have to be flexible.
Which basiaclly meens your working as many hours as we give you
