Economic migrants in UK

I lied. 2 minutes.

The voices in your head are liars too.

OwenMoney:
It’s illegal immigration precisely because there is nowhere to get legal entry into the uk except in the uk.

D`you reckon Braverman is a fan of Joseph Heller?

Here she is explaining about the legal routes for asylum seekers:

Braverman “to get to the UK you are able to put in an application for Asylum”

Loughton "I would only enter the UK illegally then wouldn’t I ?

Braverman “well that that would if you put in your application for Asylum uh upon arrival that would uh be the process that you enter.”

Loughton “how could I arrive in the UK if I didn’t have permission to get onto an aircraft legally to arrive in the UK?”

Braverman “let me just invite other colleagues if…”

. The vast silent majority in our country want this illegal immigration to stop now,.

I disagree,. I would say the vast VOCAL majority want it to stop.
Everybody I certainly talk to anyway, and I don’t just mean my circle of friends.
Conversations with customers where I go to if it crops up, many overheard conversations in pubs etc,.I would say it’s the general consensus…then again I don’t usually mix with ,.or come up against the lefty right on middle class types, in fact that crew are the only ones who I have heard say they are either for their misguided and naive view of an ‘enriched diverse society’,.from the comfort of their million pound homes in the Home Counties, and even that is on the tv…not many infamous and dodgy clientele hotels in their areas presumably.

At the risk of being branded a ■■■■ or a racist of which I am neither in reality…, but more of a realist…Just take a look at Enoch Powell’s predictions and prophecies in the 1960s.

robroy:
I ain’t coming at this from the angle of being on the side of the Tories either btw,.as I am on a right downer with the [zb].
I would vote Labour tomorrow IF I thought they were any better…but all the mamby pamby liberal left and woke b/s, champagne middle class socialists, pc issues, and all the rest of it ,abd the ‘piece de resistance’ leaving the country virtually bust and penniless last time ? hmmm not convinced.

Put Angela Rayner in charge, somebody who has had the [zb] ty edn of the stick most of her young life,.ex Union member, teenage mother, rough arsed council.est upbringing, who has witnessed REAL life,.and I’m with you, otherwise…not convinced.

I really don`t see any problem with Starmer. Nor Rayner.

Champagne Socialists? What is that about?
Is it a bad thing to make money if you had a poor or ordinary start in life? Is it bad to stand up for others coming up after you, rather than join the already rich who selfishly grasp onto everything?

Starmer is the son of a toolmaker (Theres a cue!) and a nurse. He went to a selective state school, that became fee-paying whilst he was there. Charity paid his fees, his parents didnt pay for private schools.
He made the most of his education, and earnt money as a Lawyer. As a good one he did well. I rather think that making his own money is a good thing.
He acted in the McLibel case for two private individuals against the £10 million lawyers of McDs. Not exactly money grabbing nor kow-towing to big business. He hasnt forgotten his roots and joined the Tories because he has earned himself a few quid.

Labour and finance?
We can listen to the repeated, and repeated, and repeated, stuff about the Tories being better. Repeated by the Tory owned, and controlled media…
Or we can look at some facts.

How about GDP per Capita? Quite a strong indicator about how a country is doing. From Macrotrends
macrotrends.net/countries/G … per-capita

For years the UK was growing.
Ups and downs of course, but doing OK-ish.
There was a Global recession in 2008. Labour in power.
Look closely at the graph above. Follow the link, click on it and enlarge that period.
Under Labour we started recovering from the fall. (A fall that the whole world had)
Then, look for yourself, the rise continues for a short while, then stalls. Under the Tory austerity regime we have been bumping up and down with no real success.
They are not managing the economy well at all.

Ten years of Labour 1997 to 2007, just before world crash. $27k to $59k
Ten years of Tories 2009 to 2019 =,m before Covid crash, $39k to $43k

Look for yourself. Check out other years.
If you try you can make up some bad times, but the overall picture…?

Franglais:

bigstraight6:
Jesus wept, you obviously have far too much time to waste. The vast silent majority in our country want this illegal immigration to stop now, no [zb] statistics can counter that fact.

I do have a fair bit of free time today, and since we don`t have a dictatorship, I spend it how I wish.
I find looking at actual facts and figures a pleasure.

If the vast majority are silent? Then the voices you hear must be inside your head. I suggest that you go and converse with them.
Even with all the free time I do have, I haven`t got enough to waste it talking to imaginary friends

Utter and pointless nonsense, like all your posts :unamused: You really do need a new hobby…

We need the boats stopping and we must start returning the ones lavishing in hotels and holiday camps up and down the country. Then the gov needs to get a grip on the NHS and local councils need to start building social housing for British people, not these bloody unvetted illegals and there entire families.

I agree entirely, unfortunately it seems to be quite the thing now for those of a certain political persuasion to brand anyone who dares disagree with their ideology as ‘far right’ or worse. I’ve yet to speak to anyone who doesn’t want the tide of illegal immigration to stop….

‘‘If you try you can MAKE UP some bad times’’
No need to make anything up.
Two words 3 syllables …sounds a bit like a Stranglers track that describes a shade of a dark colour, tenuously rhymes with (and adequately describes him btw) ‘Moron Clown’. . :bulb:

Hmmm. More than one minute.
Almost half a day.

No,.seriously?? :open_mouth:
Oh come on ffs Franglais, grow up man. :unamused:

So go on then… which one of my listed categories does my last post come under that has ‘offended’ you.?

I thought it was a given deal that Brown is/was a ■■■■ clown, I even hear that from some staunch Labour supporters like yourself ffs.
My own 85 year old Dad who has voted Labour all his life even agrees and often voices it.
I EVEN implied I could be swung to vote Labour next time,.so where tf are you coming from on this exactly…or are you just missing the incessant arguing between us, so felt the need to kick summet else off. :unamused:

Oh aye speaking of…
You missed the bit where Brown sold off all our gold reserve in your economic record,.and left the UK virtually bankrupt,.for the next guy to collect the infamous note from one of his cronies in the treasury., saying ‘There is ■■■■ all left’ . :bulb:

Brown sold off half the UK gold between 1999 and 2002. He was Chancellor under Blair.
It was such a financial disaster, that they were voted back in again twice!

It cost the UK between 3 and 7 billion pounds over those years. Depends on who estimates it, call it £5b for ease.
Adjusting for inflation that would be 10-ish billion today.
Truss lost the country about 30 billion quid in her few weeks in power.

Bad taste jokes abound.
Are you clasping your pearls to your chest, and reaching for the smelling salts at that one? Really?

Pearls and smelling salts eh?..ok.
youtu.be/WNpX9fs41_s

Normal service resumed by you then I see.
And…Ahhh the old chestnut., …‘‘But I was only joking honest’’ after sudden self realisation of being shown up to be coming across as a bit of an easily offended snowflake type.
Ok, got it…
:unamused:

And yep,.I was wrong after all,.(as well as absolutely everybody I have ever heard talk about him)…
Brown was a politician, statesman, and diplomat akin to Winston Churchill and an excellent PM to our country,.and not a complete clown by any means… :bulb:

Said NOBODY EVER.

I’m an avid Newcastle Utd fan, as much as you are with the Labour Party, …but even I admit when they are playing sh.,.

You know mate…One is allowed to criticise them when they deserve it btw.and have ones OWN opinion rather than keep repeating the official spin… ,.otherwise one just comes across as a serial ‘‘Toeing the official line conformist’’.
Just saying.…old chap.

robroy:
And…Ahhh the old chestnut., …‘‘But I was only joking honest’’ after sudden self realisation of being shown up to be coming across as a bit of an easily offended snowflake type.

Well? The one still offended by a joke from over ten years ago? You?
I asked if you are really such a snowflake? Well we have a clear answer.

The post was about your chosen subject of economic mismanagement.

I pointed out that Brown cost the country about £5 billion. Did that pass you by? Of course it did.
I also pointed out in an earlier post that his Chancellorship built the country up better than any Tory has since then.
And the losses he made over years, were far less than the losses made by Truss and Kwartang over just a few days.
He more than made up for those losses over time.

Even accepting the losses caused by the Global crash he did better than any Tory since then.
But never mind, you just keep on repeating the same off guff fed to you by the right wing press.

Just repeat the mantra “Brown the clown”.
Don`t worry about any facts.
“Brown the clown”
“Brown the clown”
Relax.
“Brown the clown”
Let your mind go numb…oh, you already have.

robroy:
One is allowed to criticise them when they deserve it btw.and have ones OWN opinion rather than keep repeating the official spin… ,.otherwise one just comes across as a serial ‘‘Toeing the official line conformist’’.

So, who is repeating what everyone else is saying?
“Brown the clown”
It ain`t me.

Ffs! man  TEN years ago?? :open_mouth:
Seriously??
Nah sorry mate, not a scooby, I evidently have far more going on in my life than you to even distantly recall wtf you are on about.
(Please don’t remind me btw, as I don’t care. :bulb: )
And fyi…it takes a ■■■■ lot to offend (in the true sense of the word) ME.
I ain’t that shallow nor highly strung.

You know mate, you always show yourself up by your posting style to illustrate how much I get under your skin sometimes,.I can actually (or at least virtually)hear you seething between every word. …don’t take this stuff so seriously mate, it ain’t real life.

What you evidently have not picked up.about me is, when I see I ■■■■ someone off,.the mischievous side of me makes me keep at it rather than walk away…same in real life which I can differentiate between with a forum.

And why do you keep making comparisons between Labour and Tories to ME?
I by no means am a staunch Tory supporter, it ain’t like a favourite chosen football club, I take each election as it comes,.and choose who I think will deliver what they say and improve things.
I don’t just vote for,.speak up for,.and champion the same party whatever tf they do :unamused: .
I liken political parties in a simple chippy analogy, …just because they made good fish and chips 10 20 years ago, I don’t continue when a new owner rocks up and makes crap fish and chips…
Simple analogy, but it illustrates my pov on political parties,.which evidently is a lot different to yours.eh?
So please stop Tory knocking to me…I don’t GAF ok?

Get a room lads.

Narc:
Get a room lads.

Aye you’re right mate, just ignore us, it’s a TNet ‘‘lover’s’’ tiff.
(I say ‘‘lovers’’…term used VERY loosely, , we have a love/hate relationship on here me and Frangers,.I love him/he hates me… )

None of the political parties are going to stop the influx while we have civil servants who are made up of many recent immigrants themselves. We have heard this WE WILL STOP THE BOATS before every election as far back as the early 2000’s , Tony Blair blew our borders years ago and sadly they will never stop the influx due to the human rights lawyers creaming it off! The human rights bill? sets out the legality of one person getting here, can then request his entire family are allowed to follow them! This has to end first!!!I suspect the truth is it will never stop and has been going on quietly way back from the early 1950’s.

I don’t know this guy and have not really read into his posts after some of the drivel he posts, but I suspect Franglais is an immigrant himself.

robroy:
Ffs! man TEN years ago??
Seriously??

Actually the bad joke you posted about (the note in the desk) was about 13 years ago.
So you do hold a grudge for a long time don`t you?

robroy:
I liken political parties in a simple chippy analogy, …just because they made good fish and chips 10 20 years ago, I don’t continue when a new owner rocks up and makes crap fish and chips…

Say the guy who brought up Brown and the gold from over twenty years ago. And got it pretty much wrong.

robroy:
So please stop Tory knocking to me…I don’t GAF ok?

robroy:
And finally do you actually believe that Starmer despite all his bluster.WOULD actually do any better than this lot?

Well, since you asked, I replied. I followed up your points.
It got us to here, where you have decided that you don`t like my answers.
Nothing to say about the topic you brought up? And so you start blustering about all sorts of stuff about how I look in your imagination?

And so
What of this Gov`s choise to drop the agreement we used to have to send illegals straight back to Europe?
What of the thousands of illegal migrants deported under the last Labour gov, compared to the less than one thousand last year?
What of the years it now takes to process an asylum application when it used to take months?
