Ebay and aramex

hi there, ive just sold some tools on ebay and a chap from saudi won it.

i got paid almost immediately.

however i am concerned with his postal address…

He wants it delivered to …
mr undisclosed , RUH 13730
Aramex House Old Bath Road Colnbrook
RUH 13730
Slough, Berkshire
SL3 0NS
United Kingdom

from what i can see its a freight forwarding company? are they genuine? the RUH 13730 in an address ive never seen before.

My worry is i send the tools, and they disappear then he lodges an ebay payback claim and gets a refund followed by my tools for free.

RUH is the shortened name for Saudi airport. It might just be so the shipping agents can send the items on the correct flight without having to open them.

send them signed for with proof of delivery so you shouldn’t have any problems.

I used to take airfreight from there to Liege airport on a regular basis a few years back so can confirm that the company is legit.

I wouldn’t worry, as long as you have some proof of shipping or a waybill, although we have just been shafted because we thought it would be ok. We sent a set of new clutch plates out to Turkey using a friendly courier, however they went as a bulk shipment and apparently didn’t turn up. Mustapha has claimed his money back from Paypal and we have lost a set of plates. When we tried to argue it with ebay, they asked us for the waybill. Our fault we accepted the bulk document it has cost money.

The whole shipment arrived safely in Turkey, but where the carton of plates went after that is anyone’s guess.

Who would you recommend I send it with so that I have a waybill and don’t end up having the same problems as you?

Pretty sure we’ve sent stuff to that exact address usually bulk joblots of oldparts we’ve put on. I’m not 100% on this but if the address came through on the paypal receipt as long as there’s proof of delivery to that UK address is should be enough as far as a paypal claim is concerned. If he contacted you afterwards requesting a different delivery address I’d say no, paypal registered only, if there’s much money involved.

I would say as long as you have proof of delivery to aramex in colnbrook then you are covered, if it doesn’t make it to Saudi Arabia due to what ever reason thats not your problem. the deliver address is colnbrook and thats where your responsiblity ends.

right, as long as i have the proof of shipping, no worries… i always send it to where ever they wanted it to…

Perhaps I am too cynical but what kind of tools is it that they don’t have in Saudi Arabia?
I sold a pair of speakers on ebay, nice piece of kit when new but that was 20 years ago. They were won by some geezer in Hong Kong who wanted them shipped to China.
I got the most uncompetetive quote I could and never heard from him again.
