Eating near manchester airport

Flying from Manchester on Sunday afternoon and don’t like paying airport prices for rubbish food so can anyone recommend somewhere with good English food within a few miles of the airport.

About a mile from the airport, good food and you can sit outside and watch the planes take off.

The Trafford shopping mall has numerous food outlets , lots of choices , from Mexican, Chinese, Italian or American style food .
It is not that far from the airport ,but be aware of any road closures in case of an accident or traffic jams in the area .

I am not sure which direction you will be heading , but the Hollies truckstop off junction 12 M6 Cannock , is open 24 hours, their food is very good, cheap prices and daily specials .
Families in there all the time, bikers and the police use it.
Showers available to freshen up before or after the flight .
Beer and wine for the non drivers .
Lymm truckstop also 24 hours with a restaurant that does steaks and roast chicken, after a certain time at night, they do bacon butties or take away food .
Costa and McDonalds there as well .
Crewe truckstop has a decent cafe on Cowley Way, shuts at 21.00, Brewers Fayre next door, food stops at 21.30 .

Thanks for your replies I’m coming from Hull end of M62 truckstop would do me but don’t think wife would go maybe try Xichrisxi suggestion

That is quite good, my brother goes there very often and he’s a fussy bugger.

Wasp city on a warm day though. Lots of glasses of pop left lying around on the tables.
