On my way into work yesterday morning at 4am on some rural back roads and came across a Focus on its roof off the road in the verge. No police aware stickers.
I stopped and double checked no one had been thrown clear or laying injured. Thankfully it was empty. Would you have stopped

Absolutely I would, I’m a bit squeamish with regards to injuries so I would be dreading seeing someone injured but at least I could have phoned for help.

I’m struggling to think of a reason for not stopping, TBH. Although being a suspicious soul I’d have the keys out of my ignition before I approached the upturned car.

I kind of think that anyone who had gone to the trouble of placing a car upside down in a ditch in an attempt to “lure” you in Roymondo just might have the means to remove the keys from your pocket after you’d hidden them.

At that time of the morning it has a very high chance of either being scrotes joyriding or the scourge of the earth drink driver, have you ever tried dealing with a drunk in shock?
Drive on 1/4 mile, pull up and then phone it in and then continue down the road!

I was actually considering the possibility that the car could be stolen and the driver thereof might be looking for another free ride, rather than the thing being a set-up. Seen similar situations before, y’see…
We have a lot of drainage ditches at the side of our roads. A few years ago a bloke lost control on some ice and parked his Audi down one. Poor bloke couldn’t get out and no one checked and he froze to death. V sad
We helped a guy who had spun off the road in snow(the car was not damaged, but stuck in a shallow ditch) Looked like he was in shock so we brought him to our office (about 6 miles) to warm up and gave him a cup of tea. We are based on a farm so our Landlord kindly took him back to his car in a tractor and pulled him out the ditch. We told the guy to come back with a bottle or something for the Landlord but the ungrateful ■■■■ never did, so this particular person will never get any help if we see him stuck again.

Yes if it looked serious (car upside down, burning etc) but I don’t get involved in silly rear end shunts, people backing into things etc.
One of ours spotted a car off the road on his way back too the yard ,he thought he would check if there was anyone in it/ trapped so went down road took a right and worked his way back,he said no sooner than he had turned right off main road cab phone was ringing asking why he had turned off main road( assume he was being tracked ) ,he explained he had spotted a car off the road and he was just going back too make sure no one was trapped/ injured etc .
Eh ok,but don’t be long we need that truck back,there’s a driver here waiting for it 
,makes you wonder .
