Why not use just one of the ear pods? Don’t suppose that it will ruin the stereo experience?
yeah i think its ok to use discreet earphones when driving
but only on the motorway , not in built up area
i have been using them during hot weather on motorway
cos the radio is crap , no air conditioning so windows open and its noisy
cant hear radio with windows open so use headphones
take them off when leaving motorway
sorted
Doesn’t concern you but in the state of Massachusetts it is an offence to have more than one ear piece in use when driving. Mind you another law in that state say’s it’s an offence to use a hand held phone when driving … only if you are under 21
I use them on my I phone to make/receive calls but only ever use 1 ear plug thingy as they r loud enough to use on their own
I regularly download podcasts and listen to them on long motorway streches on a nightly trunk… I don’t think that is any different to a deaf driver or a driver that has their stereo on full blast , driving with correct mirror usage and you won’t miss the flashing blues
When I had a sports car with open top many years ago the normal car radio speakers in the doors and dash were useless, I added extra headrest mounted speakers and these gave ample sound without turning up the noise control and annoying everyone else. Also had the advantage that each seat had it’s own volume control…
Halfords used to sell these…
I use a Bluetooth Boombox. Turn it on and it automatically pairs with my iPhone. Battery lasts well too. 10hrs supposedly but I’ve never tried to run it flat from full, I tend to just listen for a few hours a day when on motorways.

I can do that with my android when listening to BBC radio 2 etc but I tend to connect the droid to the aux input on the truck radio, it sounds better through proper speakers.

Please elaborate. I’d like to know what’s the attraction in being involved in the injury or death of another human being.
Do tell.
its not an attraction to injure or kill anyone but cyclists are clearly to stupid to realise rights and wrongs on the road there are regular news reports and campaigns warning cyclist of riding up sides of hgvs etc yet they still do it then expect to be the innocent victims when [zb] goes wrong.
then the no good idiot cycle campaigners blame the real innocent people for cyclists retarded decisions.
Oh the irony, I think you mean “too” stupid
I wonder how many cyclists have a grasp of basic English?
Have you never heard a news report regarding lorry accidents? Rolling over, hitting bridges? So should we squash all lorry drivers too?
Do us all a favour, if you don’t already have children, please don’t breed!
Stop hitting bridges " you thick thunts"
Stop getting ■■■■ by following your sat navy’s you thick thunts!
You do know that when you smash your trucks into each other on the M6 on a Friday, a lot of folks may get a tad annoyed.

Calm down sir
I’ve no need to kill myself, I’m a cyclist so I’ll probably get squashed one day
Not a good Idea while driving…

Good job you’ve stopped using them when driving, you have been breaking the law.
Which law would that be?
against them
Just for those who have a chip on the shoulder in regards to anything mentioning or containing the word "cyclists", I also mentioned pedestrians!

Strange that depending on the whim of a cop you can be prosecuted for due care because of wearing headphones, but if you are profoundly deaf you are ok to hold a licence!
There is a difference in that the deaf person is probably paying far more attention to things going on around them as opposed to somebody with ear phones in probably too loud , I think smoking at the wheel should be totally banned also , it falls under due care & attention but should be banned & remember hands free is the legal way to make q call but it has been proven that its the conversation that is the distraction & you can still be done for undue care & attention if you crash whilst on a hands free call ! And since this turned to cyclists , I think they should be banned from using headphones too , I’ve lost count of the amount of cyclists I’ve come up behind who havnt heard me or the horn & are all over the road & not once look behind them …

I don’t like it or can’t do it, so nobody else is going to, even if they can. Ban it, out of hand.
Tony Blair would be proud.
