I popped into town this morning for a haircut and noticed 4 of them in one car, the usual ford galaxy, having a ‘friendly’ chat with 2 of our EU cousins that are parked up on Carr industrial estate. On my way home I had a quick look at another truck parking “hotspot” and there they were again with another guy who didn’t disappoint on the cliche front, proudly wearing his flip flops [emoji23]
Anyway, presuming these guys are weekending on ind ests. without amenities are they now breaking the rules and if so what are the consequences? Financial I’m assuming as they all stayed parked up and didn’t look like they were being moved on.

We dont know what questions DVSA were asking, but it may be to do with whether the drivers were on a short or extended weekend rest? Other countries have been enforcing these regs more strictly than the UK, so far. Maybe that
s because we have such good facilities for drivers? Or because some UK companies want cheap haulage, so pressure the UK Gov to ignore EU rules?
Or whether they were in the UK (assuming as you hint that they are not UK reg) for over 7 days doing internal work (cabotage)?
Yeah, I don’t and wouldn’t want to second guess why they were there speaking to them but I doubt it was just dropping in to say hello, how are you [emoji387] [emoji387] [emoji387][emoji57]
They were all EU registered.
Good to see on here someone else from Donny [emoji106]

Reduced rest was never an issue
