Has anyone heard of somebody losing their license due to alcohol dependence? Just lost mine and have to be 3 years without having any alcohol
Lad where I used to work had same.
3 years became 7.
He kept failing the drink/drugs test.
Ridiculous. He would be warned it was on a given date so knew he had to leave it alone beforehand but just couldn’t.
I suppose that is what dependency is all about.
Worryingly he is back on the road and he is still the same.
That ■■■■■ but probably for the best.

Whilst it may seem severe it is for the best for everyone. Best of luck with getting sorted with it.
Chap I worked with lost his like that.
Something on the lines of reliant on alcohol due to health / medical issues.
He’s been dry but with other underlying issues he’s been told he’ll never get it back been 6 yrs and he’s giving it one last chance.
My uncle did about 15 years ago, I think it was his 60th BD medical.
Was for the best. He was an alcoholic and had been for years. Died about 2 years after
Whats the difference with being alcohol dependant…and alcoholic…are they the same ? anyway it seems to me like the op cannot do without a drink, its on his doctors records or dvla got to hear of it, i think they were right not to allow him behind the wheel of 44 tons ( or any vehicle ) as he would be a danger to himself and others. I wish the polish driver who fell asleep in a live lane causing the death of so many people, had been recognised as one, but take note as to what can and does happen, licence or not !!
