Although it will appear to not affect anyone wishing to ‘drive for a living’ the DVLA has decided to raise the minimum age limits for driving certain vehicles…
its seems that if you pass your CPC then it will pretty much be no news. Im not sure why they feel the need to do this, i would imagine the only people who wish to hold C1, C and CE licences without CPC are horsebox drivers? the young farmers daughter style person?
i did a quick search on TN but couldnt see anything else about this mentioned, but i thought it might be worth mentioning if there is anyone thinking about doing the test, might be worth doing it within the next 6 months?
It’s been mentioned quite a few times actually but the search function on this forum is useless
Last time I had checked, they made an error on their website and technically the way they worded it was that regardless if you sit a CPC or not the minimum age for a HGV was 21, not sure if they’ve fixed that yet or not.

Thats what i thought, just looked at it and seem to have sorted it. They’ve properly ■■■■■■ about with the bus age limits, dont really see why a bus should command a higher age limit than a lorry, a fully loaded artic can be quite a beast to keep under control on some single carriage ways.

Agree’d.
Just had a quick look but it’s not sorted yet, beside CE they still only have one * so it’s ‘21*’. If you then look underneath however you can see there is a description explaining what two ** mean but it’s not beside the age so they’ve still to fix that.
