I got a bit ahead of myself actually. I thought I’d said already in my OP that it couldn’t be done at the PO if you are changing addy as well, but evidently I didn’t :blush: . If I had then you would have got another “grumpy” reply. :smiling_imp: :sunglasses:

@ Neil.

I have the D2 form and INF2D in front of me right now and there is nothing on/in either about renewing your photo. You have to select an option under “the licence you want” and there isn’t an option for updating the photo. The closest match would be “renewal” but as it doesn’t expire for another 20 years that obviously isn’t required. Nor do any of the other renewal options fit :

For medical reasons
As I was disqualified
At age 70

The D1 form has a specific option on “what are you applying for?” :

To renew the photo on my licence.

I would just use D1 then. I haven’t had to renew my photo yet and used the online service for change of address.

I don’t personally know anyone who has had a problem with losing entitlements, I don’t doubt it has happened but maybe not with the frequency the stories would have us believe. :wink:

The dvla is supposed to give you all entitlements when you use a D1 they just sometimes forget.

Yes, renewal required every 10 years and you do get a reminder about a month beforehand.

Look at 4b on your photocard - that’s the date it expires. Mine expired in March… :open_mouth:
