They do things differently, are the hour rules bent a bit to suit their needs,or do they do it by the book,i had an experience with a cloggy firm, nice as pie when first there, with help your self to free coffee, then when make a joke back to them and return the banter, they get aggresive and dont like it back. They do work very hard, and are not slackers, the bosses are direct and forward, with no messing about.Do they intepret the rules in a alternate way?
bit difficult to interpret the rules differently in the days of digi tacho, of course as everywhere else do you have the usual collection of magnet experts.
Dutch tend not to worry too much about weight
as you said they do like dishing it out but cannot take it when they get it back
Dont you have to speek duch to work for the duch

no but a good command of basic English would help .
they don´t tend to advertise directly they do most of it via agency´s which then cream their share off as well.
Best way is take your holidays in Holland and go asking but be prepared to adapt or you will be wasting your time.

Shouldn’t worry, he’s already talked himself out of trying to get a job with the Irish so he’s doing the same with the Dutch now.

I think it’s more a case of the Dutch government didn’t like our friends from the east. As you’ll know when they joined the EU the UK was one of the few countries to let them come and work here from the start, much to the annoyance of many, but the alternative was the Dutch way, don’t allow them so most of your transport fleet heads east.

Vos Logistics bought up much of the Eastern Bloc, originally most of the old companies kept their own livery and just got the 3 VOS letters on the grille. As trucks needed to be replaced they were given brand new vehicles and training. Harry Vos as was, operates in most of the EU states. Most older drivers will remember the names & livery of these companies.
