Yhere was a small shunt this afternoon at Dunkeld Station involving 3 vehicles 1 small van 1 car and a people carrier. The cars were all drivable and there were no serious injuries.Within 30 minutes there were 3 police cars and one ambulance on the scene. The cost of this operation could have paid for the damage to the cars.
I suppose it depends on what the person who called the emergency service said to the operator. " there’s been a three vehicle pile-up and people are injured " springs to mind.
If it was something like that , then the response doesn’t seem too over the top to me.
Regards. John.
Is one ambulance over the top for a 3 vehicle accident with injuries Until the emergency services arrive they don’t know what injuries have been suffered.
Is 3 police cars possibly carrying only one Officer in each over the top
Seems to me that they may have needed one car and one Officer at both front and rear of incident to warn and direct traffic from both directions and a further Officer to collect evidence, take statements etc.
What’s over the top about it

Sorry, I must have missed the bit where it said that those that were injured were Tosco shoppers

Well my spin on this situation is… the previous night a person was killed on the A9 in a car crash, fair enough it was a bit away, but a three car shunt is going involve people getting out to exchange details/inspect damage and maybe the police attended to speed the situation along and ensure the safety of all the people. A bit OTT I agree but it is them who have to sweep up the pieces of a fatality and inform the loved ones ect if the over reaction saved one person then it’s job done
I’m on Glasgow to Inverness the next two weeks, fingers crossed no shunts/fatalities/snow and everyone goes home safely.
Was there much delay caused by the bump?
There was no real delay the vehicles were driven onto the grass, after the police got involved they stopped the traffic for 1 minute and the cars were driven into the railway station. We keep hearing of the police being under resourced so they cant turn out where they are required ,but they can attend a non event such as this.

Yeah true, there must have been more to it, could have been a crash for cash scam.
Cash for crash?? Don’t. Get. Me. Started
My misses rang me in a state. She pulled out of a side road onto a 30mph street. A car accelerated and actually turned across the white line and ran into her and hit her side on. He drove into her. She was in her Mum’s new BMW. Smashed it up. She’s not good at these things and failed to call the peelers. An eastern euro “foreign” gentleman shall we say got out, his ■■■■■■ passenger leaning out of the window. He knew exactly what to do, gave details and ■■■■■■ off.
Needless to say the insurance without camera footage or police judgement decreed she must have pulled out on him. Surprise suprise a claim has come in for neck injury, stress, destroyed car bla bla bla. It’s screwed her insurance up. Her next years premium will be through the roof. The car is ■■■■■■ and she’s taken it really badly. I’m stuck in another country and had her crying. All because this ■■■■ has done this deliberately.
If I see him around the Hollywood road I’ll pull his ■■■■■■■ head off

Feels like you are already started
Yeah, get the police and don’t give them your address. A good few years ago a when I was driving the buses, a story went around a driver was in a accident and both parties thought it was the bus drivers fault. Later on, completely unknown to the bus driver, the cctv was viewed and the other driver was on the phone, had he not been distracted he would have stopped. They guy must have got a letter from his insurance telling him it was his fault, and What did he do on reading this letter?.. Straight round to the drivers home!!! roaring at his wife in front of his children…
Or the famous one, someone is out in their flashy limited edition BMW or GTi ect and they are sitting at the lights and some criminal gently nudges him from behind… “Oh!!! Sorry mate, don’t know what I was thinking, Aw it’s such a nice car I’m really really sorry!!! Lets exchange details”… Or in other words Nice car, where do you park it at night?
What a world
