I wondered if I could could pick some brains regarding duel compartment fridge wagons.
We live next door to a local convenience store, the tipping point is about 8M from the gable end of the house. We’re having problems with noise from them.
Now don’t get me wrong here, We’re not at all bothered when the delivery turns up the fridge is knocked off and restarted as its ready to leave. But i wanted to know is there any reason why it should be running whilst its been tipped and the back door is open?

Company policy…
In the belief that having the fridge motor screaming it’s head off keeps the cargo at the set temperature.
It doesn’t, it justs wastes fuel and ■■■■■■ everyone off.
No reason at all not to turn it off for a few minutes, and most companies doing store deliveries in residential areas will have this as policy. Lazy or forgetful driver.
You would be surprised at the power of residents if you complain to head office.
When I worked at Domino’s one resident complained to the right person about noise and they ended up changing whole delivery schedules and shift patterns for many people just to get this particular store put on a daytime delivery instead. Management lived in fear of complaints from residents.

That ^^^^^ at best all you’ll achieve by running it with the doors open is a nice coating of extremely slippery ice on the floor. At worst you’ll cause problems for the engine and it’s ancillaries.
What happened to your house bus in Brigouse (or was it Hebden Bridge or Todmorden?) ?

Indeed. I switch off the compartment I’m tipping. Then it goes back on to get it to temp
Most of the convenience store big players, insist fridges are turned off when you arrive, to reduce the noise and save fuel.
Leaving it running while tipping, just wastes fuel and can cause the refrigeration unit to become blocked with ice.
