Dublin

After doing my delivery in the middle of Dublin to a theatre

we then had 5.5 days parked up at the truckstop at Dublin Docks, first thing to do wash get the motor washed

then sample the beer, now and again i would remember to get my camera out

i have been slack taking photos on this tour and promise to try and do better next time…

been in there a few times  pal

Its not a bad place, 20 Euros a day, theyve got a few plug in points so you dont need to use truck batteries when watching TV, free showers, 24hr garage, i was well pleased with the place considering the time i spent doing nothing, truck wash is good as well.

trucks looking great, but 5.5 days at a trucks stop ouch
why sooo long?

The tour we are on had 5 days at a theatre in the city, andwe had to wait with it. Full pay for doing nowt! Ive driven 2400km’s in 4 weeks!!!

(go on, be as sad as me mate!! )

Ellies dad it must be a while since you’ve been around the docks cause you can’t miss the topaz truckstop on the way in!! I think they closed kittyhawks a few years ago and built a hotel on it. Though you would hardly need 2 know anywhere else to park since you seem to live in toghers  Good old tommy and his free parkin!

Anyone recognise McNallys FH?? Type the reg into google.

I mate that photo of your daf in the side street in dublin looks familar. I was at the same places last year on a job for becks beer its a bit tite to get in to at night

Thats the Olympia Theatre in Dublin City centre. James street I think its called!

I used to drive for Oneill breifly, although it was a topline, it wasnt an R Series. Hadnt been to Dublin for a while there and can seriously say that when they eventually get the roadworks etc finished, especially the south side, life will be a lot easier for drivers.

At present doing a lot of work around Clondalkin and Ballyfermot and cant get over the changes in the last 2 to 3 yrs!

Kev

It was tight getting in there mate, blindside in a left ■■■■■■ at 07.45 in the morning, i surprised myself by doing it in one go!!
Mat, i know im sad taking pics but dont want too many people to know, so i took them all from the cab! (as you seem to have guessed!)

Nice pics Carl.

Seeing the pic of that Nolans motor reminds me of an encounter with one of their driver’s a couple of years ago.

I was parked up on the Park Farm Industrial estate in Folkestone, just across the road from the tunnel terminal,no time left to wait for the train so I stopped there,at the time I was driving for Willy-Bitz.
There I was sitting with me feet up watching telly, when a Nolan motor pulls up opposite, driver shouts something at me,so I winds the window down.
“You move,I park here”! he said in his best Polish accent.

The second word of my reply was ‘Off’!

The first word is multiple choice.

Cheeky git!

have to agree kev, i emigrated to australia 3 years ago, and came back to ireland last year for a while, went driving for TNT, and i honestly struggled to get around the place, having known it like the back of my hand previously.
