Does anyone know when this Dublin tunnel is going to be opened? I saw on The Insider that there is to be a lorry ban between 7am - 7pm commencing January 1st 2007 for the city centre areas which will affect the port terminals, but I thought that the opening of the tunnel was a long way off yet. 
ACCORDING to the Tunnels web site it opens in SUMMER 2006:

Lorry ban in Dublin is for 5 or more axles so if your running with your lift axle’s up you can still use city streets . I recon it will be ready around September expect massive delays on the M50 as all traffic will have to use it even if your coming out of dock’s and heading south ( 20KM detour and a toll)
M50 exits can’t cope now so this winter will be a nightmare.
