Dublin Container Hauliers

What’s it like around Dublin Port nowadays? It’s many years since I pulled a container out of there and it used to be chaos. I’m trying to remeber the name of a firm who were in and out of there all day running some of the worst heaps I’ve ever seen and driving like nutters. They were mostly 3 series MAN’s ex TNT by the look of them. Can’t remember the name and it’s driving me mad!

The roads are much, much better over there now, built during the Celtic tiger & there’s no traffic on them either, a truck is a novelty, small tolls to pay, no pot holes and no coppers!

Very pleasant driving although some do like to tailgate especially round Dublin, for no reason either, what’s the point of tail gaiting in busy traffic?

The port seemed quiet to answer you original question.

It is a lot quieter nowadays some not bad units pulling containers now they seem to have benefitted from some of the European hauliers going bust and there being a steady supply of second hand units, Longeren seems to be around there a lot and one of the bigger outfits at that work . Don’t when you were last there Silver but the days of running around and not meeting a gard or the RSA are long gone plus the gards are much more clued up now and the days of being able to blag your way out of an offence are few and far between now. used to be once you made Dublin town you were safe!!!

I would have thought that Henry Crosbie were the main Dublin Container Hauliers?

I was over a couple of weeks ago, I just meant once you’re on the toll roads you don’t see many if any marked cars & you’re not checking every car you go past if you’re pressing for an unmarked like over here.
