I am very proud of my 1st time pass rate and do advertise the percentage rate via my twitter feed which is shown on my website.
I know the DSA print the percentage pass rates for each test centre. However I wouldn’t have a problem them showing pass rates for individual driving schools or trainer bookers.
This would surely benefit the customer on choosing there provider and also keeping us trainers on top of our game.
I did my training with John at Flair in Chelmsford. He has all pass rates listed on his website. 1st, 2nd, 3rd time etc and for different categories. It was something I had a quick look at when booking but not something I would definitely go by. I’m sure a lot of trainers are in the same position as you and have decent rates they wouldn’t mind sharing. I’d also guess there are others who would rather keep those figures hidden away!
I believe it would lead to nationally a better standard of training.
It would only be fair for trainers to volunteer to be in the scheme as well.
It would be nice to get a view from the DSA.
I’m with Peter on this one - nothing to hide- then again having our own test centre on site means that our pass rate is readily available on the gov website already.
I think you will always have people who don’t want their details released - and for this exact reason I don’t think DSA will ever go down this route (data protection etc etc)

Does the Gov site state which are 1st time passes etc?

As I’m sure you know Rog this isn’t the case - it only shows overall pass rate, based on Test Centre and Gender
The DSA have some very strange rules regarding what they will and won’t publish
I’m with the other trainers on this. Let the world know how the passes are doing. We photograph every pass and update the figures for easy viewing. Yes you will notice a 7th time CE pass earlier this year. Win some lose some.
Over the years if someone calls a school and asks, the standard answer is 90-95% 1st time pass. Trust me figures like that cannot be achieved over say a 3 month period.
I believe the DSA do monitor the pass rate of car ADI"s so why not DSA LGV trainers.
A word of caution…though it sounds like a good idea, it could lead to learners being pressurised into taking additional hours to increase the chance of a pass, where the trainer isn’t confident. Some similarities with school league tables.
